TRI-Y HEADERS OR TRADITIONAL LONG TUBES???
Tri-y's help to scavenge exhaust and get it out. I've put long tube Flow Tech Tri-y's on every hot rod I've owned. I'm not looking to mod my gen 5, but with 10 years of engine machine experience, I would go long tube Tri-y's, long tubes, or short tube Tri-y's (in that order). Edit: Let me clarify tho, I'm talking the old school small block chevy. The LS series motors I'm a bit less knowledgeable about. The I've Been out of the engine machine world for about a decade. LS3 or L99 might benefit more from regular long tubes.

IMHO, there's not much point to making noise if its not the result of a performance increase. Headers into the OE catback will give the best performance and a noticeable improvement in sound quality and volume without overdoing it. Then, if you want more, you can modify the mid-pipe and or mufflers. There have been many threads on C5 bemoaning starting with the mufflers
+1 Start at the front, work your way back.

CAI Inc is a great brand to go with when it comes to intakes, one of the most preferred around here for a reason.

Most people on here will tell you to go with longtubes over the tri-y set up.

Great American small business. R&D, manufacture... all right here in Michigan. Sponsor local car clubs... Owners and workers are big Camaro enthusiasts. Chassis dyno their stuff to perfection.... and that probably just scratches the surface.

There are plenty of cheaper ways to do stuff. You get what you pay for.

Kinda like dog food. The good expensive stuff makes my dog's tail wag. The cheap Chinese crap from Walmart gives her the shits.

Same goes for Roto-fab except from Michigan they're from Arizona. Both companies do top notch work and have incredibly impressive intakes.

Ya but these guys have no idea that a K@N Typhoon cai cost $400 here either. A CAI is $600 plus for us. Pretty sure slot of guys posting about cost wouldnt lay $600 down on the CAI brand.
