I'm actually struggling with the same dilemma as the OP, but for me it's because my knees bother me from time and wonder if the m6 will bother me with having to shift on a stop and go commute.

I plan to garage my car and it will share driving duties with two other vehicles. So, was curious to your thinking as to why go with an m6 if it's going to be garaged.

Thank you in advance...

I believe he was referring to the advantages of the remote start on the auto. If your car is out baking in the sun with leather seats you could remote start it and let it start cooling off before you get in. On the contrary, if it is 10 degrees out you can remote start it and let the heat kick in.

If the car is garaged then remote start may not be as valuable.

If you care more about launching and the performance aspect then get the A8 , I have the A8 in my 2015 C7 and the car explodes of the line but if you wanna have that control factor then get the M6 , I chose the M6 for my car and loving it ! So much fun to drive

This. You guys down South have some seriously strong rays and black leather is what most cars come with.

LOL, true story. That's why I've been converting the garage to a home for the 2017 instead of my storage annex!

I really like my 6 speed 2SS and enjoy driving it. I prefer to change the gears myself and as long as they build them and I'm able to drive them I will have one. All 5 of my Camaros since my 1982 Z28 have been manual trans cars. Eventually though all cars will be autos like most of all trucks are. IMHO get what you want since you are paying for it and enjoy your new Camaro!

Yes Spook Show'84 you are so right about it being hot now down in the South. I know this year in Georgia has been extremely hot every day and that's the reason there's tint on my '16s windows and while in parking lot at work I have a windshield sun screen put up. Oh by the way, nice ' 84 MC SS you have in your signature!

Go drive both. get what you like better, it's your purchase.
The M6 rocks! The A8 also rocks! so it's on you.
No matter what it's a Camaro, go have fun with your shopping.

Hey! I'm near retirement and still prefer the M6. If you still have the leg muscles, an M6 is better when you're retired!

I figure by the time I'm 75, I'll have to go with an A10 (A12?) Camaro or Corvette, though. Manuals may be gone by that time.

I would take whichever one you enjoy driving more. I'm sure that the remote start is nice but a choice between transmissions a much larger and more important decision IMO.

Someone I worked with in my college days back in the late 1990s rigged a remote start to his 1992 Ford Taurus SHO 5 speed. Bypassed the clutch switch. Then proceeded to show us one night what it's like to try to remote start a manual with the transmission in gear in an empty parking lot after work.

Watching him walk with the car as it rolled a little. No damage done, it was just fun to watch.
