QuickJack ELX6000 or XLT6000 Models

Has anybody successfully used the QuickJack 6000ELX or 6000XLT models with their camaro? I had liftpads on the car that measure ~69in apart which is slightly outside of the 66in lift spread of the 7000EXT.

My concern is if the 86in frame length of the 6000 models is able to fit under the car and lift it with enough clearance. I could make the 7000EXT work with additional hardware, im just trying to see if the 6000 series work as well which would make life a little easier.

I use the BL-5000SLX without any problems. Max distance on that is 60in(lift point spread) and I'm not maxed out but I am close. Frame length is 70 inches.

I have the 6000 and it works great. They are long, but work perfect. I had the 5000 before and it wouldn't reach the front jacking point so had to use the middle one and the rear. I bought the 6000 to use on my Hellcat Redeye since it was a yacht. lol The 6000 reaches the front jacking point with ease, is heavier built, and seems more stable.

I use the 5000TL with the Camaro. Had it up many times.
No issues.

You use the 6000 series with your ZL1 as well?

I have the 6000ELX. I like it because you use the front most jacking point. That makes me feel a little better. I'd buy it again but there are some downsides.

The side skirts and ride height on a ZLE (not sure if the same ones are on a ZL1) necessitated using the ZL1 add-on jack pads. If I wanted to just use the rubber blocks of the quickjack lifting straight on the pinch weld, the iron frame of the quick jack would start to deform the side skirts at the front jack point before the blocks were engaged enough to lift the car. It might have been fine, but it bothered me. I already had the jack pads on the middle and rear jack points, so I just moved the middle to the front. However, due to the size of the block, the edge of the block starts to deform the side skirt when engaged to the jack pad. This is probably fine, but to fix that I cut a small section out of the underside of the side skirt, to allow the rubber block better clearance. Can't ever see the difference, and now it raises without deforming the side skirt.

Additionally, the iron frame of the 6000 is a little beefier to handle the extra weight. On my ZLE, it doesn't fit under the car. So I drive the front wheels onto 1x8 boards. Then slide the quickjack under it.

I would do this all again because imagining all the weight of the engine so far in front of the lifting point makes me nervous. It's not much trouble to make it work, but it might be more than some want to go through. The length of the 6000 ELX quickjack is fine, it just has to be moved quite close to the rear wheels.

Thank you so much for the very detailed response. This is exactly the type of information I was looking for. Another concern was my sideskirts that are on the car. I already have the ZL1 add-on jack pads on all 4 corners so it sounds like I may or may not run Into the same clearance issues as you stated while using the lifting blocks with the sideskirts. I have a SS 1le so im not sure by how much our ride height will differ, but if there is a clearance issue with getting the QJ under the car, I can drive onto some planks of wood as you did.

My primary concern was the clearance of the overall frame length and it being able to get under the car without the tires being in the way, but it looks like it should be good to go with the information provided.

I was JUST looking at which QuickJack to get for my 1LE as well. Looks like the 6000ELX is the best bet.

I am still confused on if it slides under the car or if you need to drive up on it due to the length and clearance issues though. Also unsure if those low profile or pinch weld block/pucks need to be added if I have the ZL1 lift pads already.

They tell you not to drive on them. At least last I heard. I have had mine for a while. I have the 5000SLX. Haven't tried it yet on the ZL1.

I have the 5000TL. I use it on a stock 23 SS. I installed the pinch weld pads. Don't try to lift the car without these installed, you will destroy your side skirts.

I use a block from the quickjack set to make contact with the Pads on all four corners of the car. Very confident with the system. Do not drive on the QuickJacks. You slide them in place once your car is parked on a level surface.

Okay gotcha, I didn't measure but was worried they wouldn't fit by sliding into place from the side. Since I already have pinch weld pads from ZL1 Addons, would I just need the low profile blocks from QuickJacks or are those even needed?

This, the blocks that come with it May compress too much so I had to use both sets to keep it from crushing my rockers

The rubber blocks sit in metal trays within the jack. Without them in the tray, there's no stable surface to contact the car. So you need them even if you have the ZL1 add on jack pads installed. The jack pads (on 4 corners) sit on the 4 rubber blocks. Nothing else touches the car. Don't use the quickjack without 4 zl1 add on jack pads installed. Quickjack does sell rubber blocks specifically for use with pinch welds, but they're extra $ and you'll still probably run into issues with the rocker panels.

I'm getting the car up on the jack in the next few days. I don't mind taking some pics of how the 6000ELX works with a ZLE if it would help anyone considering a purchase. Just let me know.
