First I heard the model S was never going to make it. Then I heard it would be unreliable. Then I heard no one would buy them. Gee...do people enjoy being wrong?

You do know that Tesla repaid the federal loan 10 years early, right? I bought shares of Tesla at 21 bucks! Check it now! I told all of my friends, "If you believe in America, invest in it and buy Tesla." We did pretty darn well.

The Tesla sports car is for real. Not only that, but the performance numbers are conservative. They're well past the drivetrain development stage

Bet against American tech on this scale and you'll lose every time! Chevy, Dodge, Ford and Tesla are kicking Euro/Asian butt.

agreed everyone is always saying Tesla is gonna fail, blah blah, but they seem to be doing just fine. yeah they are running into production issues trying to get cars out, but they are not as big as Ford/GM. They are hanging in there though. All my friends with them love them.

The Koch bros. spent a ton of money and resources to hurt Tesla. They did succeed in creating some sort of fake left wing image for the Tesla and it worked on a lot of uneducated people.

Who the heck wants to bet against a new American car company that's focused on building the "most American" car since the Model T?

Well...I guess big oil is American too! ;-)

But spreading lies and bad politics to hurt Tesla didn't do much beyond costing Koch a lot of money.

The truth has a funny way of slipping out in time.

Bring them both to a road course and see what happens.

Yeah...because big companies never have layoffs!

Tesla stock is up 600% overall from day one. Sorry you missed out.

Why would you "laugh to yourself?" Do you work for Kia or Exxon?

Why would you want an American company to fail or find it funny?

Are there Russians and North Koreans in this forum?

No, but we know the ZL1 would leave the Tesla for dead on the 1st turn. The ZL1 is a true sports car. The Tesla is a family sedan.

But God help the exotics when the Tesla sports car comes out. I'm already telling my wife we should get on that list when it comes!
And it has back seats!

As an American, are you required or expected to support any and all US businesses?

I don’t support the electric car movement what-so-ever. I don’t give a shit if they are made in Russia or my neighbors back yard. The technology isn’t “greener”, not does it save consumers money. It’s also tax payer funded to some extent. Pass.

Sounds to me like you should spend more time on the Tesla forum, since you sound to actually like their offerings and not any current Camaros.

List? You mean the one that requires $250k paid in full to be on for a car not even slated for production for several years? That’s hasn’t actually shown any of the claims it’s been making? While they can’t even deliver the Model 3 at this point? Have fun with that Scooter.

All this arguing and shit. We will all be dead anyways before we see all electric cars, so enjoy our gas guzzlers while we can. I could care less. I'm 41. I'll be dead before Tesla takes over the world.

Have you forgotten the P1, 918, and La Ferrari? They didn’t need help from “God.” They delivered with fuel and batteries.

This is the kind of ignorance that amazes me.

And like a child, the next part is to suggest I shouldn't buy a ZL1. What a snowflake.

Tesla does not get the subsidies that Walmart gets and you also get to pay for the food stamps the employees get. When the tax plan goes through, Walmart will keep the extra 50 billion and you'll still chip in for those food stamps.

Meanwhile Tesla has been lobbying to end tax subsidies, which no other car maker wants any part of. Tesla got a FRACTION of the tax breaks that GM got last year.

Don't let math hit you in arse on the way out! Nothing worse than a fake patriot.

Oh, and yeah, I absolutely DO support American companies, especially when they don't make me pay for food stamps for their huge workforce.

Have fun in Russia.
