Tax refunds, months where you might have 3 pay checks instead of two (happens twice a year if you're on a 2 week pay period), or a month where you have discounted rent, etc. all provide opportunities to maybe throw half in the savings account and spend the other half on fun stuff. That's the way I do it.
Is so nice when you got someone that understand you and work with you like that!

I drew the line as to how much I wanted to spend upfront on the vert(as in stock).
I have yet to modify it, I don't want to risk non warranty coverage.
When and if I do some mods it will be one project at a time and therefore not laying out large sums of $$$$ all at once.

I work overtime when I can and I've gotten profit sharing and a perfect attendance bonus this year so those helped. I wrestling with going ahead and getting headers and cam, which is a big mod. If I could look into a crystal ball and see me getting overtime, that could be paid off in 6 wks. I don't think we realize what we've spent until everythings added up. At least I was surprised when I added things up in my head driving to work last night!!
I KNOW!!!! I didn't start yet did a little add up and is around $6,700 get my theme done! and that's not include turbo or supercharge... but like you said small mods first...

You might want to check out the "One more mod and I'm done" thread. Once you start it's hard to quit.

I just decide what I want to do next and save my extra pennies until I have enough. Saving up now for a gear, axles and drag radials. Next up is cam.

I won't ever catch up to the people with plenty of money to spend, but I don't need to. I love the car as is and it will only get better.

I take the "You only LIVE once" approach. It makes me feel a lot better after paying for mods. And I agree with a lot of the other members, sometimes you have to stop or slow down one addiction to support another.

I'm leasing my camaro. I think I can buy it out after the lease for 15k. Might be interesting to mod then. I'll have to save up a lot though.
