2014/15 ZL1 or 16 2ss???

What's going on fellas? Figured there was no better place to get feedback and opinions than here. Anyways I just currently sold my jeep this past week due to an upcoming deployment next month and wanted to treat myself once I got back. Im strongly looking at a 2014/15 ZL1 or possibly a 16 2ss. My logic is that once I get back everyone on base will pretty much have the new 6 gen camaro's, but why not be different with a ZL1? Any feedback is appreciated

Looking for a cool badge on your car and a supercharger? Gen5 ZL1.

Looking for a kickass car and a great interior? Gen6 2SS

Looking for (IMO) the best track car? 2017 1SS 1LE ... order it now and get it when you get home!

Although the ZL1 has gobs of power it weighs 4120lbs. The new SS will match or even beat it's times. The new SS will have all the updated tech much nicer interior and can be had with MRC like the ZL1 now. As for being unique, the ZL1 was definitely a lower volume Camaro but how many average folks are going to look at it any different then a regular SS Camaro? Most will just think you changed the hood and added some wheels. There are probably 400k+ Gen 5 Camaros on the road but only about 50k or so Gen 6.

I actually drove a '15 ZL1 and a '16 2SS back to back. I loved the power of the ZL1, but as others have said, the finish, new creature comforts, and newer technology pulled me to the 2SS.

The '15 ZL1 was $50K and the 2SS was $44k. I took that price difference and kicked in a little more and supercharged the 2SS. I now have the best of both worlds!

To me, the '15 ZL1 now looks dated. It's still setting on the lot and they have dropped the price $2k.

Or wait for the 16 ZL1. Going to be amazing.

Man if I had it, I definitely would! If the military paid me that much to support the payments, it would be a sealed deal lol

Appreciate everyone's feedback! Still trying to outweigh pros and cons because price wise they seems about the same. Just trying to get the best bang for my buck

If its a toy that you plan to mod, gen5 ZL1.

If you plan to drive it every day, gen6 SS

I traded a 13 ZL1 for a 2SS, NPP, MRC because I wanted to drive it every day. I'm very happy with my decision.

Can lose with a supercharged 6 gen SS at all!!! How much does the supercharger affect your fuel economy? That another thing I put into consideration because I know ZL1's aren't gas efficient

The gen5 ZL1 is a 11.90-12.20 in the 1/4 car. The gen6 SS 6M is a 12.20-12.40 in the 1/4 car. Sure the ZL1 is more powerful but the extra weight almost negates that extra power. In my opinion the gen5's interior looks horrible, the car also drives like a heavier less nimble car. The gen6 fixed these issues, that's why I decided to buy one. I think you are over looking another option here, the '17 1SS 1LE. If you can't quite afford the '17 ZL1, but can afford a '17 2SS, but want the car to be a bit more unique, then the '17 1SS 1LE is where it's at. Not to mention the '17 1SS 1LE's price should be around $42k.
