1970 Camaro rebuilt by a 19-year old kid and his father

Just stumbled upon this short documentary, what a great project and how good it is to see the passion in this young guy and the spirit of his work.

IMO this is a very tasteful restoration, he didn't go wild with any modern parts, only upgraded what was necessary and gave the car very nice final touches, too.

So happy to see this diamond in the rough, and I mean both the car and the kid.

Cool! I was 19 when when I got my 1970 Camaro it was also green on green. Kicking myself now for selling it, but I was young and dumb.

It's always good to see kids still working on mechanical stuff like this.

I hope in 50 years there's still some kids that will want to restore some old 6th gen Camaros*, the last of the breed, back to their former glory. (*We'll see if they're actually the last, but still, for the sake of the story, lol)

Hopefully my son will be one of them. I have him out there with me now when I work on the car and he enjoys it.

Cool vid. Gotta give his father credit for spending quality time with his son and passing on the passion. When he's much older this young gentleman will look back and fondly remember time spent with his ol' man. My memories of garage time spent with my dad are priceless.

Sigh... my kid sees cars as appliances, sadly. But it's all good, at least my nephew is a gearhead.
After I got my 911S, I asked my kid if he wanted to drive it.

"Nah... I'm good."

My nephew drove an hour from his home the first weekend I had it to try it out...
