i see your problem. what i tried first was a big ass 2x12 was the cheapest way. Made my own ramp didnt look the greatest but saved front end. had an 07 srt8 it that curb ate it up.

Although I have better luck driving into the drive way rather then out, I prefer to back the car in. With the back up camera and rear sensors I have a much better chance of not smacking my car from underneath and from the very front. With the way the front sticks out they should of had some front motion sensors installed by the factory.
If I find myself having to go into my driveway front first (neighbors in the way on the street to back in), then I take it in at a wide enough angle for no scrapping.

I can drive my 13 srt8 300 in at 20 miles an hour and probably not scrape it. I'm curious about those scrape bolts on the bottom of the splitter that someone had posted about

They are about a half inch thick and there is one for every splitter screw location plus an extra one for the center that you will have to drill a hole for. You just remove the existing screws and insert the washer and new screw. They are counterbored so if you do severely scrape one the screw head will not get ground down, allowing you to remove it. If you damage one that badly I believe he will replace it for free. They are only visible if looking up from below, as when the car is backed into a garage with an inclining driveway. They are SS and mine are painted black. There is now a black chrome option. The very front ones on mine show impact marks that would be on the front of my splitter otherwise. These might not work for everybody but they work for me. Rolled curbs sound good, but you can't take one with you for pulling into a parking lot somewhere. You can always PM Skylane765 for more info. Hey guys,

Right after purchasing her, I pulled out of my favorite Discount tire, thinking I'd kinda take off, big mistake. Hit pretty hard. After inspection, saw that the nose was scraped pretty good. it had a couple of others that look like they came off of a transport. Is my hit or hits like that doing anything to the front fenders? Or is it, just the front end piece, absorbing all of the shock?

It's one of the things that I always tell others not to crap on others. a few years ago a saw somebody in a rice burner pull out in the exact same place and hit hard and I was like what a douche. Well, I'm the douche now. sorry to say.

I don't think anything else is going to be effected much if at all. That "lower grill" and "lower support" is pretty flexible when pushed.

They aren't that expensive either. For $200 and change you can get both of them.

EDITED: ONE THING I FORGOT TO MENTION!! Try to get them locally... from the normal GM parts only places, it's as much to ship them as it is to buy them (approx. $200 shipping). You'll pay more at a dealer locally, but should cost you less in the long run if you're dealer isn't a crook. I SAID IF!!

I've owned several slammed vehicles in my past and I've learned you either know how to understand/anticipate surface changes in elevation, or you don't. After my first scrape, I knew how I needed to approach slopes, bumps, holes, and driveway approaches. My friend on the other hand, well, he just kept replacing splitters, and ground effects left and right... it was really hard watching him pull into parking lots and driveways. He made me a nervous wreck for his never ending pulling into parking lots and driveways straight-on instead of coming into it at an angle!

Always know, if you can come into it at an angle and get one of the front wheels on the incline first, you will be able to avoid a scrape. Know your limits... you will eventually know how to identify a big bump. Also, avoid holes at all cost! You cannot see the bottoms of these and they can really damage your car. If you scrape on a bump with your front, chances are you will high center when you come off the downwards slope. Good Luck and practice your approaches.
