PRAY Performance sets new H/C SBE record by .001. LOL.
Got my project Blue Devil to the track today. Nothing went to plan at all. But if you have read any of my stuff in the past you know that nothing ever goes my way. Anywho, we were still just able to clip the record. .001 is weak sauce for a new record but it is what it is. This is the car that just put down 588/529rw. But that was in -2,350 DA. Today was positive DA.
DA was +100 with a solid 10-15mph head wind all day. I literally picked the worst day in the last two week and the two weeks to come to rent the track. The track crew made sure it was on point and worked hard to keep us gripped down. As the day went on though the car was spinning through 2nd. Once I caught that we addressed it. However, this track is a couple tenths slow to the other around here. It is my home track though and the crew is fantastic to work with. The car wouldn't shift out of first before the limiter no matter what I did. It would just touch it in second as well and the converter wouldn't lock till the tip top of 3rd. That was killing me. The car would have gone 10.20's@132ish with out a doubt had it shifted properly and locked the converter after 2nd. I was able to run a 1.43 60ft. .001 only seems like weak sauce when you know the car has more in it, if their was nothing left in the tank then you would would hang your hat on it...either way, congrats on your stellar accomplishment.
Do you think the 26" tire wasn't giving you enough lead time for the 1-2 and 2-3 shift mph's ? Also, you mention the converter not locking quickly enough, it's not listed as a mod so is it a factory unit ? Outstanding work as always brother. It kills me when you southern guys still crank out the slips when us Yanks are shoveling snow.

Not the most ideal day (weather wise etc), but sounds you know the potential that is busting at the seams and you STILL proved positive!! Incredible!!!

May have had a head wind, but temps were very cold and these cars make a shit load of power in cool temps. Da was killer also. I would have give my left ball to have those temps and DA the last day I ran this year. Still that's one hell of a pass. Hope the tranny holds up cause you can't have my torque management in it. You def have the tuning close to figured out.

After talking with the customer it appears that not shifting out of first is just something the car has done for a while and he has to paddle shift it out of first. So I don't know what that is all about. When I got the car though the TM was turned off. I turned it back on. So it doesn't seem to be tune related. But I should have been able to overcome it with the TCM unless there is a mechanical issue with the trans. The converter not locking I attribute to a time to distance table in the trans that still hasn't been uncovered. There is no other explanation that I can come up with. I have been through this computer with a fine toothed comb and tried everything I can come up with. We must still be missing tables. It just sucks that looking at the logs the car spent twice as much time in 3rd than it did in 4th since it was dragging the converter the entire way. It is funny that the high before the track day and basically the entire week before was -1,700 DA and the high's the rest of this week will be about the same or more negative. I get the on freaking positive DA day with the wind in our face.

The DA was terrible yesterday for here. All the fastest N/A passes on the list have been done in -1K to -1,500 DA that I am tracking except mine. That was in +2K. Like mentioned above if it was the day before yesterday or today the DA would have been -1,700 and the wind to my back. Yesterday was the worst day in a month.

Still some wicked time. Congrats and I got to get moving before you catch me. Got the cage in yesterday and still have some to do. I have my Lt4 injectors on the way and will get a 70 mm and 75 mm pulley on order also waiting for March so I can get back out and get in the 9's.

Congrats on the sick NA time. Why bother with FI pushing so low into the 10s NA?
So with H/C what does long term reliability look like? Will there have to be regular valve train maintenance?

With any cam I would suggest regular valve spring maintenance.
There are no cats on this car. I am selling the F/I and doing a 416 after I go 9's SBE. Ten a 250 shot. I want to be the first single power adder in the 8's.
