Vitesse won't turn off

Is it normal for the VTC display to stay on even when the car is off and has been sitting for a while.

Might seem like a dumb and obvious response....but can you (and shouldn't you) just unplug it when its sitting a while?

Yes it's normal. It goes off after about a minute after you exit the car.

You can't unplug it really. Its up above the throttle pedal. It would be a royal pain to constantly unplug it.

OP. Mine turns off once the dome lights go off (when I exit the car and close the door). If it stays on much past that then something isn't right.

Mine does. Sometimes it'll cut off after a minute, sometimes it seems to stay on for awhile.

No need to, plus it not that simple given the location.

Bear in mind, I have removed my cabin wiring harness in the past and taken it to the auto parts store to make sure I'm getting the right switch. "Easy" doesn't necessarily matter to me.

Mine just stays on, i left the car for an hour and came back and it was on

Edit: nevermind, it turns off after a minute but when you open the door to come back in the car, it turns on again.

I had the same question so I emailed Ahmed at Vitesse about it and he said it was normal and will shut off after a few minutes after exiting the car.

Even if it didn't shut off, the draw would be so low it would take weeks to drain your battery down. I think. Ha!

I installed the controller on Sunday and tried to start my SS today and the battery was to low to turn the engine over. It has a new battery so the drain is coming from somewhere and the only thing different is the controller. Once I get the battery charged up I will keep my eye on the controller to make sure it turns off.

It turned out to be that it stays on for a minute, so when you leave it is on and when you come back and open the door it turns on. This gives the impression that it is always on.
