Whipple intake manifold gaskets
Whipple 2.9 intake plenum comes with o-rings like the stock intake plenum plus a set of cometic gaskets. The instructions make it look like you should use both types but I can't imagine that's right. It looks like the o-rings allow it to seal properly against the heads and that is what I would prefer to use. Does anyone have experience with this or a reason why you would double up on gaskets?

Use both. Had the same question when I did mine. Spoke to jannetty and they had the same question for whipple. The answer is both. Orings on the manifold gaskets on the heads.
Will orings themselves be ok, probably. I chose to follow the instructions and suggestions by whipple.

I mentioned this is my write up when I did the install. Your intercooler hoses likely won't work either unless they updated their kit. I got a new reservoir with old houses to the passenger side I had to get my own hoses and also had to flip my circulator pump around as it wouldn't work the way it came.

That's really strange because it mocked up so nicely without it but I'll probably give it a try. I bought the kit used so I know there's a couple of hoses I'll need but thanks for the heads up on checking the flow.

That must be an update to their kit, as I got my kit in 2013 and it only came with o-rings. My inter-cooler hoses had issues and the brackets for the inter-cooler did not work. Apparently, my car was a mid-year cross-dresser, and had more of 2013 parts in the front end than 2012. In any case, I called Whipple and they immediately recognized the issue and sent out the right parts.

Hmm, I also have a kit from 2013 on my LS3. Also have larger split in the LTFT,s -2% on one side, -10% on the other under normal driving all these years. I wonder if the O-rings alone don't seal perfect, and they added gaskets to help.
