Backhanded compliment from Ford owner

Coming out of Home Depot I see a gentleman loading his Ford F150 truck next to my Camaro. No big deal as I parked next to him and he was double parked. As I am walking towards the car, I decide to start her up and see what kind of reaction I get. This is always funnier mind you with older people 60yrs and up as it startles them, but I digress. As I get even closer to the car, I can see he's eyeballing the car, and I am just waiting for a comment. First words out of his mouth - "You have a really nice car, but I was expecting more noise when you started her up". I just smirk and go right on into my car. I'm not sure what he was expecting from a V6 with no mods besides a CAI I'd rather have a stock sound, then a tinny ricer sound that most people have around these parts.

Thats just me though....

He prolly did know that it was a V6. I think most people that aren't in the know about Camaros assume that all of them are V8s

Should have told him it was a 600hp sleeper and that the mufflers make it sound like a V6 lol.

Definitely not as I need only 20 more years to get there. Just threw a number out there as I was typing. I should have said 70+.

How is that a backhand comment? Did he know it was just a V6?

I don't understand the point of this. So, you were looking for a reaction and you got one? What am I missing?

Just sharing a story is all. Was I looking for a reaction when I started the car? I knew I would get one as he was a type who cared about his truck(ie. double parked his truck and was spotless).

Did he know it was a V6? Probably not unless you are a Camaro aficionado.
