That's because Holden actually picked a good color to show the car in.

Why GM chose silver for the SS, I will never know.

I'm sure when people start seeing them at dealerships in other colors etc it may change a few minds. Granted its no camaro but it does look a lot like a 4 door gto.

The new SS is based on the Pontiac G8 (made by Holden).

I loved my G8. Best handling car I have ever owned. Great performance. You can drive that car for sixteen hours and feel okay at the trip's end. But a family member needed a new vehicle, so I sold it to them. Not an easy decision to make. Hopefully, when I get the Camaro SS2 vert (on order) I will have no second thoughts.

I think the G8's exterior styling is superior to the SS. They should have retained the G8 hood scoops for sure.

I suspect a stick equipped SS will be forthcoming, just not in the first year.

Technically it's not a G8. The G8 was a VE Commodore. This is the next generation, the VF.

Go drive a Pontiac G8 (from which the SS was derived, both being Holden) and say that...

I never said it wasn't a good performance car. We're talking about the design. Even the G8's design was pretty understated despite the hood scoops and aggressive front end. A lot of people preferred that actually.

Too expensive, too bland, not paying ADM that my dealer suggested may be needed to get an early one. GM seems to be following down the same path that got it into trouble in the past.

For a low volume car? GM really isn't expecting high sales. It's a niche car.

And GM has no control over ADM. That's your dealer being stupid.
