Also - didn't like having a license plate bracket installed but not sure if I wanted to risk not running with one. Plus I decided to make the best out of it.

I rented a car and drove from Palm Beach Gardens to West Virginia to get a Red Hot SS convertible with MRC, NPP, and A8. Really enjoyed breaking it in via Skyline Dr. & Blue Ridge Pkwy finishing with several runs through Tail of the Dragon in NC. Big difference from my manual 14 SS convertible. I enjoyed the 14 and miss it but need the A8 to avoid having to purchase a third car.

I received my G2 order from Amazon so will check the box if it says anything about the temp. Weather is too cold and crappy this week, still hoping to have a few more days here and there to drive it. |

I checked the box and didn't see but just found it on their website. "Working temperature must be between 56 - 70 degrees."

Yea, I bet it takes a looong time to dry between coats for the G2 at cold temperatures! Be prepared for that. I did mine when the temps were in the high 60's & it seemed to take forever to dry. This is not something you want to rush on for sure.

I like your garage with all of the signs.
Is that an old diner drive-in food sign in the back?

Ok, so my 2016 journey comes to an end - put the Camaro to sleep for the winter today. Snow and cold weather in the forecast for upcoming week. Close to 500 miles since I got it over a month ago. Can't wait for spring to be here!
Added Stabil, tire pressure at 35psi, flat stoppers, battery tender hooked, exhaust stuffed, dryer sheets inside, gave it a rinseless bath and then put the cover on. It's been a heck of a ride so far! |

Picture was taken in Deals Gap, Tail of the Dragon. I didn't know another Gen 6 was going by until I looked up all the pictures taken that day by 5 different photo companies inside the Dragon and found this one.

That's so awesome! Congrats! I'm going to be looking for a Hyper Blue 2SS w/ black interior or a Garnet Red w/ Red or Black interior, either one has to have NPP and MRC. Your story gives me hope that I will be able find my dream car. The mods look great btw.

I ordered the GM/Chevy stripes from one of the vendors here. It is bit expensive to buy GM stripes and paying someone to install them compared to buying 3rd party vinyl. I wanted the specific look of the GM stripes that shows gap around the vents and edges of the hood, bumper and around spoiler in the back. If you don't care about these subtleties then go with the 3M vinyl that local car graphics guys have and save a few hundred bucks.
Yours look gorgeous! I'll also get the rims powder coated to glass black in spring and G2 red calipers like yours. Don't give up on your search, talk to chevy and have them locate the specific car you need, I expanded my search coast to coast and found the exact car I wanted! Good luck with your search...PM me if you have any specific questions, I learned a lot going thru all this back in October and have shared many tips in various threads. |
