Not so. Lots of fraud in insurance salvage. Companies insist LATE MODEL salvage go to a salvage company
like Copart for formal bids. As an adjuster if I left this salvaged Camaro at a shop I would be looking for a
job in short order.

Thats easy... as a former body/paint tech, if I was interested in buying the car for salvage, I'd ask the owner to buy it back from his insurance company, then buy it from him.

But that was a while back, insurance companies have become more mercenary... oooops, I mean "risk-management based" these days... the decision goes more like this now: hmmmm let's see its a $25k car, do we fix it and spend $18K, or total it and pay out $18K to the owner, then sell the salvage rights for $6K??? Guess which one wins every time?

That is a gonner for sure... Air bags, Right uni-side rf fender rf & rear wheel/tire and all suspension, front and rear fascias tail lamps, hood and deck lid. I'd bet the left side is tweaked some too. So sad, hopefully the injuries were minimal.

Not even an option to buy wrecked cars anymore! At least not like this, we cannot even discuss purchasing these cars with the customer. Its in the contracts for dealing with the insurance companies.

If I want a car I have to use copart like everyone else. But this car is not on my radar, its an automatic. Also looking at it again, the right strut tower is over far enough to break off the valve cover. Its pretty bad.

My main goal for this thread was to see if the owner was a member, but it looks like they are not.
