My new detail cart
I finally put a cart together. I think it is going to work very well. Your thoughts?

Cool setup.
One bit of advice - grab some foam tape and cover all the edges. I built a similar cart back in the day (not as nice though) out of a metal husky tool cart and my worry was always having it near a car if it rolled or a door was opened into it when I was working. Cheap insurance. Foam tape at the hardware store should be really cheap and you can cover all the corners and high spots just in case.

Great idea! My detailing equipment needs some major organizational help but not sure that cart is in my budget right now. Very cool though!

I found the cart at the last place I thought I would shop, but after looking around at alot of different places I found it at Harbor Freight tools for 183.00. It met the needs of storage, portability, and a working surface better than any other cart I found in a similar size, and price. Even some much more expensive, just did not have the correct layout.

I put it to the test this evening. It is great to have everything right at hand, all the way around a vehicle. I'm pleased with the design, everything has a place, and it is durable enough to last many years as a detailing cart. The gallon storage holds all the bulk products, and my PC. Lots of places to hang various bottles, and latched drawers for buffer pads, microfibers etc. Very pleased with the purchase and price.
Btw can someone flip the pics? Last edited by Nor Cal ZL1; 07-23-2014 at 11:59 PM. |

Great setup! I need to do something like that. Hate having to go back and forth in the middle of my detail.

Get some of the corner guards for baby proofing. That will last longer than tape
