Man if I went off statistics for motorcycles, I'd never own a bike either.

You would never ride a bike if you saw what I saw on I4 in tampa. Kid flew over the guard rail on a multi level overpass, He was horsing around. He was road splat and had to clean him up with a spoon. After I saw that I would never touch a motorcycle again. Friend of mine was riding with his wife and they had a blow out on the rear tire. He survived but she has been a vegetable for 15 years.

Yes, I would still ride... That happened to other people. I've been in an accident myself on a bike and I still ride. Most accidents on motorcycles are from the rider themselves screwing off, doing dumb things. My accident was for that very reason. I'm not going to live in a bubble due to what happens to other people. To each their own.

Incomplete data as usual.

Its like the reporting on repos and gun crime...relevant data always gets left out because telling the whole truth will offend someone.

Those ratings, are not saying you can't die in a roll over, they are saying its very difficult to roll a camaro, unlike the person in the OP with an F-150.

I posted a thread about the Moose Test a little while ago, that test is specific to rolling a vehicle, in 43+ mph sharp turns. And yes, all the SUV's and Pickups failed that test. Until you add counter weight to the side of those pickups.

It really is basic physics, tall center of gravity = Roll over hazard, low center of gravity = far less risk to nearly impossible.

Story Time: My friend's mother died in a roll over: She was drunk, going on an exit ramp on the high way. She rolled her "Corvette" 8 times. How drunk do you have to be to roll a corvette much less 8 ****ing times?

You can't blame the car, but you can blame a driver. Roll-overs are pilot error, nothing more nothing less. Yes you can design a vehicle to be far less of a roll-over hazard but in the end even a corvette can roll 8 times.

I don’t really get this way of thinking, if you’re that afraid then just don’t drive since the vehicle You are operating is somehow going to kill you. A vehicle can have the highest safety rating imaginable, still will not stop a semi driver from turning you into a crushed coke can because they were on there phone behind you one day.

If a person is concerned about rolling over and being killed in a convertible, then to me it’s a no brainer to buy a 2 door coupe Camaro instead.

I read somewhere that most people who die in car accidents do so within 10 miles of their home, so I moved!

That won't prevent you from rolling over if someone t-bones you while running a red light or if someone's wheel falls off next to you and launches your car up into the air like this: https://youtube.com/watch?v=-NHVfDRd1_8

I tend to agree that it's more about the drivers and less about the car. Having said that, in a convertible there's no head protection. It's definitely going to be easier to sustain a head injury compared to a rollover in a hard top.
