Not a good category to beat a Mustang

Looks like the Camaro is beating the Mustang in the number of stolen vehicles category.

True, but what bothers me is they don't specify years or circumstances. the article reads more like a sales brochure. I have a feeling those Camaros are gen 5's mostly and a good amount out of the bay area.

LOL, thats like advertising for those cars. Plus they showed a gen 6 when 2015 would have been gen 5's

I'm thinking this is clickbait

It states new cars in the article and for the Camaro specifically the 2016.

Actually no.... Here you go - It just goes onto a sales pitch. Now maybe I'm reading wrong, But it does not specifically give data stats. How could they compile this so quickly? Most studies for anything "new" usually takes a couple years. Not buying that they are referring to the gen 6.

14. Chevrolet Camaro

Number Stolen: 461
The Camaro has been completely redesigned for the 2016 model year, and in addition to the noteworthy 6.2-liter V8 for the Camaro SS, a new 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder powerplant is available for the first time. Producing 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, the 2.0-liter offers more torque at 3000 rpm than the V6, and can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic. With a sculpted new exterior, the Camaro is leaner and slightly smaller than its predecessor — so it’s no surprise that this sexy model makes the most-stolen list

I think you may be right about it being the 2015. Found a separate article and the numbers look to be the same:

they all reference data from www.nicb.org

I dont have a login to see any "new" data and we're not on the top 10 list for any states. So I can only assume any data they're referencing beyond 2013 is only accessible if you have an account.

Seems that car thieves have a taste for good looking interior, they hate the old fashioned retro ugly Mustang interior. LOL

Actually, I'm very impressed. It seems people would rather get caught stealing a Camaro before they would spend their money on a Mustang
