QUOTE=FenwickHockey65;7706800]If ATS started at $38k it would've been laughed out of the market in its first month.

6th gen SS coming in at 3400 lbs would pretty much be a miracle.[/QUOTE]

Start laughing at the ATS coupe

The sedan starts at $33k

This is the same price as the V8 camaro, $33k-$58k. My point was every car on the platform will benefit from the weight reduction. Hire much had yet to be seen but a 3,400 lb Cadillac it's pretty impressive and leave us lots of hope for a big weight savings from the current car.

True but I wouldn't want a Camaro that small. I think 3,600-3,700 is a realistic range for the SS.

The only reason ATS Coupe can start at $38k is because the sedan already set the stage at $33k.

6th gen will be lighter definitely but 3400 lbs is going to be a big stretch.

V8 won't hit that weight, but the Turbo4/V6 just might. Lets hope!

If the V8 hit that weight it would be a miracle, and the Camaro SS would be an extraordinary ride, but I'm guessing around 3,600 lbs for the SS model.

Well, I didn't hear any rumors about the 6th Gen today at the local annual Fbody meet and greet.
Fbodfather was there with three GM cars for us to look at and sit in, a Z/28, an SS, and a Stingray.
No CTF cars, as GM has apparently put the kibosh on displaying CTF cars

Al. O. was a no-show as GM had him put in an appearance downtown Detroit at the Gran Prix.

Local friends reiterated the fact that releasing any details about upcoming products were grounds for immediate dismissal with a zero tolerance policy.

No rumors today folks, I guess we'll just have to wait and see and speculate among ourselves.

All I'm asking for in the 2016 camaro is a COMPLETE redesign of the taillights from the 2014-2015 model. I loved the 2010-2013 taillights but I absolutely can not stand the design in any way on the 2014-2015 and even though most people will say that's not a legit reason to not buy a car or I'm not a true fan, it is reason enough to me. I hope the Transformers car isn't what Chevy plans to make for the 2016 model year because it still has those horrendous taillights. Oh, the LT1 engine would be nice too!

three speed automatic that you can manually shift like the turbo 350 but much faster shifting. It needs to come with a 3.73 rear gear and maybe even a line-loc for us that drag race. I'll stop here as I may be asking for too much...lol.
You're 40 or so years too late.

No way to know if that is true or smoke but, i doubt anyone from GM would have said that at the longest running Fbody show in America if it wasn't.

I am inclined to believe it as the car will be at the Detroit auto show in Jan. That car has to be ready to show off in just over 6 months so clearly there are prototypes behind the curtain.
There was no one from GM at the event.

Can we please do away with some of the nannies(HSA)for example would be a great start on the next gen.and skip shift next. And I know the reason for skip shift so no need to tell me.But HSA had me looking like a rookie stick driver more than once, and that awful clutch burning smell wasn't appreciated either.Other than that I'm sure it will be a stellar performance car all while looking good doing its thing.
