Hard To Shift Into Reverse When Cold

My 2017 Camaro 2SS is my first manual transmission automobile, I've been ridding a motorcycle for the past 12 years so I have a least some experience with a manual.

Anyway, I find in the morning, after it's been parked overnight, it's often almost impossible to shift into reverse.

After checking online, I'm seeing tips that suggest shifting into first or second, or maybe into first and letting it roll a bit, before trying to shift into reverse again. I find this works.

I'm curious if this is normal behavior or if there may be something I should be doing differently.

Shifts fine into reverse when warm and I understand the transmission fluid needs to warm up for perfectly smooth operation but wasn't sure about the difficult shift into reverse when cold.

Thank you all in advance.

Seth
