Saw my 1st AUDI R8 today

I have to say as an supposed exotic 100K Plus car, wasn't very impressed at all with the looks. If I didn't know what it was I would not have even noticed it. For an exotic still not seeing anything that rivals a Lambo, not counting the million dollar plus cars which are out of my league. But if I'm spending 100K on a car, definitely a Lambo or even a Ferrari over an Audi R8, didn't look much better than a tricked out VW Bug IMO.

I guess you're a hard man to impress. Best looking exotic? No...But it's a damn fine looking automobile, and to me it stands out of a crowd...Maybe not if it was around a crowd of Ferraris and Lambos...To me they look like a Lambo's baby brother (which it is).

Momma didn't bronze my shoes, but when I turned 16 I inherited a lead foot.

Not everyone wants a flashy car. I think they look damn good without being in your face.

Its a nice car, would love to have if say someone gave it to me, LOL but my point is if I'm spending 100K on a car, it definitely isn't going to be a R8 with so many other better choices out there. Right now I've all but decided to go Lambo Murcielago, but I'm still kicking around the idea of a 2001 Diablo, love the interior of it and Audi did to some nice things to it.

If I had $100K in cash to spend on a car it would be a one off "resto-mod" of a 70-73 Camaro. I wouldn't get anything as pretentious as a Lambo or Ferrari.

Paganis are really nice, but that's a multi multi millionaire's car. I'm talking affordable exotics. There are many Lambos and Ferraris that are around 100K that are affordable, which is my tax bracket. Plus even if I was worth 100 million I don't know if I could ever justify spending a million dollars on a car, that just seems so over the top IMO. 100K is not really that bad for an exotic. Plus I've just always wanted a Lamborghini since I was a little kid.

Oh for sure. I wanted a Testarossa or a Countache when I was a kid. My tastes have changed a lot since then...I see all of these ultra custom restomods of cool old muslce and pony cars and that's what I drool over now.

Lambos are still cool cars though. If you're getting one best of luck. I'm sure I'd still drool if I saw it.

I couldn't even afford simple maintenance on an exotic honestly...

Gallardo or Murcielago early 2000s are around 100K - 130K ish. Same for Diablos. Which is affordable. I've done a lot of research on the maintenance. The prices listed above are dealer prices. Most of the Lambo guys I've talked to have reliable outside dealer mechanics that are close to half those prices on maintenance. Also for the Gallardo and Murcis typically the only major maintenance that will need to be done are the clutch changes, unless you just have some bad luck. Most guys brag that all they have to do is the oil, filter typical stuff. The Murcis and Gallardos are supposedly extremely reliable. Just saw a Murci that was owned by a rent/track place had 250K miles on it before someone crashed and totaled it.

What I couldn't find was the brake job costs...Other than oil changes and clutch replacement, brakes are super common maintenance. I've heard a brake job is like $7K.
