Look...I love that my ABM is rare and it would be sweet to have another rare blue that gets attention. It bums me a bit that hyper blue won't be like that....BUT I'm also excited as heck that GM gave us such a great blue. It's perfect in my eyes.
You won't see me saying that it should be a premium cost color just so it can be more rare. That's just silly talk.

Incidentally, I wonder if OP's aware both blues for 2010 were initially unavailable for 5th gen SS models...

Hmmm, I think I see what you mean... since its a very nice looking shade, it will end up getting overused due to high demand, popular like you said, in turn rendering the color unexciting and tiresome; played-out. But I don't think charging extra for a nice color is the solution. Making it exclusive to higher end models, yes. You'll know when you spot a hyper blue 6th Gen, it is special... a la "Blue Devil" ZR1.
I for one don't really care, I'm sticking to sinister black.

Go have your car custom painted. Then you won't have to deal with the shame and stigma of other models having the same paint color as your SS.

Bright blue is a color that everyone says they want, but very few will buy. Very few order vehicles any more, and very few dealers stock the bright colors (other than red and yellow) for people to buy off the lot out of a fear of not being able to move the inventory.

Wow, that takes elitism to a whole new level. Since the SS is just a middle of the road trim, let's just limit to the hi-po trims.

OP, they should make any color you choose a $3000 extra charge.

Some people's logic just blows my mind...
Hey we want a blue color. We've been wanting it for years but haven't gotten one because it didn't sell well. LETS OVER CHARGE FOR IT AND MAKE IT EXCLUSIVE THIS TIME AROUND SO IT WILL DISAPPEAR INTO OBLIVION AGAIN!!! I don't get it. Buy the color you want and get over the fact that you'll share the same color car with others. It's not a freaking Ferrari. It's not an exclusive car. It never will be. If you're buying it because you think it will appreciate in value or be rare, well, that's a sad reason to buy a Camaro...

First I sure don't want it to be a extra cost color because that's what I'm getting !
But.....when you build a ATS-V....and select Vector Blue Metallic (same as Hyper Blue just for Cadillac)....it is a $495.00 extra cost color....so it's very possible.
