Corvette history is plauged with models that didn't make it into every generation. When it comes to corvettes, the only thing that is guaranteed is a coupe, and a convertible.

In fact, go back in history and tell me all the years that you could buy a brand new Grand sport, a Z06, and a ZR1 in the same day. You'll have to dig pretty deep into the bowels of Corvette history. Some years they made only a handful.

I'm not saying they should build all three cars every generation but calling this a Z06 does not makes sense to me. Call it a Z5000 or something else but, in my opinion, it's not a Z06.

with the Z51 as good as it is I don't think they need a Grand Sport. if they do one it will probably be more for marketing/keeping the interest up than anything.
As for the ZR1...well they can always do one later if they want to. That's probably why the ZO6 is not the ZR1. they're leaving themselves room just in case.

What's that sound I hear? Oh, C5 and C6 Z06 prices plummeting as owners scramble to buy the latest and greatest Corvette! Might be a great time to pick up an older Z06! But boy would I take a lot of crap if I bought a Vette!

Hot off the press... this is a new 2015 color. CGM will get the axe (so will VY). The official name is TBA. I think it looks awesome.

I like it! CGM and AGM were always a little dark to me, I have a hard time telling them from just straight up black when I see them drive around, but that Grey slots nicely in between silver and black. I could very much see that being the color of my next car.

Not to state the obvious but ...

perhaps the name you are looking for is Stingray Grey?

in that article it says Kirk Bennion used those names for the color, although an official name has not been chosen.

I was thinking the same thing, but man the C6 Z06 does really look old next to the new one. The new Z06 just looks terrifying.
