Trading Gen5 for Gen6
I was on the fence about trading in my gen5 1SS. I checked out the gen6 yesterday, specifically a 1SS with the 8 speed auto, hyper blue and silver rally stripes listing for $40,600. I like the gen6, it's a great car. Fast, feels more nimble than my gen5, just an overall excellent car.
I lined up my black on black gen5 next to the hyper blue gen6 and looked at both for at least 15 minutes from all angles. The gen6 has great lines and style but, to me, the gen6 loses a lot of that throwback look the gen5 has from gen1 especially from 1969. Yes, the interior of gen6 is more refined and looks great and is very well put together but it does feel a little tighter than my car. At the end of the day my final decision was to keep my gen5. I love the the gen5's more muscular stance, presence and gen1 styling cues. I'm giving up a few more horsepower and about 300 pounds or so but when I crank up the LS3 and the NPP roars down the highway through 6 manually shifted gears I'm smiling ear to ear. You can't go wrong with a gen6 which probably competes much better with today's all world mustang and if it brings more enthusiasts over to Camaro then all the better.

I like the 6th gen the same amount as the 10-13. I like the 6th gen more than the 14/15.

Yea I've been searching for answers for the 14/15 and there are none. The closest I obtained were some 50/50 ramblings between supplier problems and the sales gimmick of being "New and improved". GM wasn't ready for the 6th gen when suppliers either went bankrupt or couldn't renegotiate their contracts. Otherwise, there was nothing the 14/15 offered the public.

I am on the fence as well. Been looking at this Hyper blue the last few weeks. Beautiful car inside and out but is it worth starting over with car payments?

I really like the ZL1 also but am keeping my 2011 2SS/RS. It is paid for and I do like not have payments.
