Really?
Yes, but only if the interior is same size as Cruze.

Complete and utter rubbish. Adding "lightness" is a great way to make a car better in every measurable way. Weight has nothing to do with structural integrity and mass can be more fatal to a passenger as there is more energy in motion at impact.

My guess is you'll see a V6 as base. The turbo 4 will be there to shatter expectations.

*warning, massive speculation incoming*

Yeah, the v6 will remain if only to fill the rental lots.

As for the I4, if the gen2's do indeed hit their mark of 140hp/l, simple math tells us the 2.3 will churn out ~320hp with about equal torque, in a broad/flat power band.

The 5.0 will get its power bump. I'd expect at least 450.

With the rumored SVT specific "Voodoo" 5.2 or 5.4 hitting the low 500's N/A.

Lastly the gen2 EB 5.0 (again with the simple 140hp/l measure) boasting a rating of so close it might as well be 700hp.

Are you guys really scared of a killer power to weight ratio? I would kill for a mustang with a 5.0 with an IRS anywhere in the 3300-3500 mark. I hope they loose that much weight because it's gonna presure GM really hard to get the 6th gen spot on.

This x1,000. I'm primarily a Mustang fan (although I love the Camaro and Chally as well), but I'm really glad GM brought their A game with the 2010 because it forced Ford to ditch the archaic 4.6.

Even if you don't like a particular brand of car, you want it to be very appealing because it will light a fire under the ass of the brand you DO like.

Same here. And I posted some interesting stuff.

Here it is. (Pulled it from another forum I post on.)

So some new news has popped up from an Aussie Falcon forum. It looks like CBIRS won't be the way Ford is going. It looks like they will be using an ILIRS instead which as far as the design looks may be able to keep even less weight off vs the CB lay out. Also it looks as though there will be a move from the ever aging MacPherson strut set up, to a 'Virtual Pivot Control Link" front suspension aka a double wishbone design.
