Best gas cans?
Anyone have an opinion on the best gas cans out there? Long story short, my car is tuned on 93, but 93 is not available anywhere near where my track day will be. So, I'll need to bring fuel to the track. The reviews on amazon are all over the board, not sure who to trust and I need to make a decision. Thanks!!

I would look for:
cube style: they stack well poly vs metal: no paint to chip ding high flow: less time to refuel Take it from someone who transferred fuel in 5's...but now has a couple of transfer tanks. |

spot on. We currently use the VP branded ones. They may be just branded by someone else which means you may be able to buy them cheaper. The filler nozzle option would make it easier to fill a street car probably. We are filling racecars with ours.

I've been using two eagle 5 gallon type 1 safety cans to grab an extra 10 gals of gas when I fill up using my Kroger fuel points.
I take a 1.25 gal No-Spill plastic can with me to drain the hose on the fuel pump before filling up my ZL1 with premium. Only used it once, but so far impressed with the product.

I was able to get one locally for $75 out the door.

thats the style I use may be cheaper elsewhere but the flaps in my z06 require the need for that style filler hose. and they fill really fast. I also use them for my snowmobile

Keeping fresh is not an issue as I use it within a few days of buying and I have been using one of my cans for 20 years no issues. They are way faster to fill with and no need for a funnel and an extra person to hold said funnel

Yep. Best I've found for all types of Motorsport use. Only gripe is you can occasionally end up with gas leaking out when pouring if your cap and vent caps aren't perfect, which is part of it with just about any gas can/jug.
As mentioned, the hot set up is a large capacity tank with pump. (Ideally with tank mounted under the enclosed car trailer) |
