Finally Took my ZL1 1LE to the Track

Hello Everyone! This is my first post, I thought I'd share with you guys some photos of my 1st track day with my 1LE. I bought her on black Friday from a dealer in Central California. I drove her almost every day until I got over 1000 miles. Finally 2 weeks ago I was able to take her out to the Track. The car performed marvelously. Compared to my C6Z06 Carbon, this car feels a lot more neutral, stiffer, and easier to drive. The car is completely stock for except for the Midnight Blue wrap I had applied. I was gonna go with a Clear Bra all over (car was originally white), but my installer convinced me to go with a different color since I wanted a Gray ZL1 in the first place (couldn't find one anywhere near me without a markup). Since it was my first time on track with her I decided not not drive her at the absolute limit, I wanted to learn the car. I managed to squeeze out a 1'43" lap time with a passenger and lifting before turn 6 for sound. I was not too far off my C6Z's time. Overall I am completely happy with the car except for the ghastly harsh ride on the street.

I don't have any plans for future modifications, except for mounting fome R888R's once these R3 tires run out of life.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.

What was the sound limit at Laguna Seca the day you ran?
Did you pass sound limit with stock exhaust?

Please explain "lifting before turn 6 for sound"

Also, do you think the wrap is as durable as the clear bra? I'd really luv a hugger orange with black ss stripes Camaro. Wanted it since forever, at least 30 years. Concerned about long term durability with a wrap.

Laguna Seca has a 90db sound limit on most of their days so a lot of stock cars will not pass. A stock ZL1 with definitely NOT pass sound. The sound booth is located out of turn 6 up the hill, so when people say "lifting for sound", they mean lifting off throttle as you go by the sound booth.

Gotta love people who build their homes next to a world-class racetrack (opened in 1957), then have the audacity to proclaim it too noisy.

Joszer, what a great day minus the sound booth! It was fun running with you. Hope we can do it again without the Mustang with the big wing and attitude. Don't forget to fill up between every session next time!
