spoiler vinyl stripe problem..
So I've looked all over the forums and couldn't find any thread about this but here it goes. I'm on my third camaro and on all of them have had this problem in which one of the vinyl stripes rips or something. I don't know if its pure coincidence or what but even this yellow one i was interested in buying at a chevy dealer had the same problem. Any thoughts?

It shouldn't ever tear there unless you intentionally make it rip there. They're pretty thick stripes, so how would they just "wear out" on that corner? That or when installing it, it was pulled too tight? So eventually it was thinned from stretching it? I've never installed them so I wouldn't know. I know mines not like that.

Are they factory stripes? I had after market stripes put on mine 3 1/2 years ago and they are as good now as they were the day they were put on.

Looks like they have been worn off . . whether by excessive wiping or even careless buffing? . .

I bet they got a bit careless and hit it with a buffer.

i bought each camaro from totally seperate dealers, all of them have it on the spoiler only though. I do believe its from careless buffing but what are the odds of this happening to 3 of my camaros not to mention a 4th one i was interested in buying lol

Careless buffing is my guess. Easy to burn through a think piece of vinyl

i paid extra to have mine painted on...no problem at all. It does look like someone peeled it or scratchd it.

Mine are 2 years old and look brand new. I have never buffed my car either, Zylon coated, looks awesome and no need to wax or buff. I do occasionally, before car shows, use spray wax.
