Battery Bad already? 14k miles .. 2011
Well.. Ive had the slow turn over for a few months.. I should have known it was coming.. went to the grocery store... idling for a bit.. shut it off.. and it had a long start.. the finally started.. i turned it off.. did the open the door and pull the key to reset the stabilization code.. and again low start.. third time.. its dead... I got a jump.. it fired fine and ran perfectly .. no codes...
I drive it maybe once every two weeks at max... Has all this garage time killed the battery.. What the best swap out brand other than going to the dealer.. And yes.. it was embarrassing getting a jump.. but.. she felt good going home |

mine was almost dead once at roughly 2500 miles and it gets driven evey weekend a little, i noticed that the onstar buttons were not going off, so i called, then they majicly shut off and it has not happened since. why would they feel the need to do a "diag" or whatever....anyway, that may be something to look for

About the same here, but mine's a 2010 with 7,275 miles. No problems yet. Maybe something else is slowly discharging the battery?

I haven't seen a factory battery last more than 3 years anymore. They used to, but no more... I have seen them start failing now in just 18 months. Change it out for a good one and it will last 5-7 years.

Define a "good one" these days.... I see a lot of marketing but not a lot of performance out of what used to be trusted brands. Sears, interstate, ac delco, all last as long as the autozone battery so why bother. The Red and Yellow batteries from optima were busts, the Blue is the only one that seemed to hold up in a car that sat more than it drove, but it is an RV battery....

I've had my 2010 since October 2009 and had to finally replace the original battery back in June this year. I went with a Duralast Gold from AutoZone for my replacement. I was happy that my original lasted for 4 years and 7 months. Mine is a DD.

I have to buy in pairs, for my diesel. Duralast is the best deal I've ever found. Still got my original too

4 years is the minimum life for a battery.not suprising just enough to get past the warranty on the car.
Funny though gremlims pop up sometimes with batteries. My truck has a 4-5 year old battery failed on Christmas eve last year, had to jump it to get going. It is my daily driver in the winter, work transportation. I vowed to buy another battery for the truck but never got around to it. 8 months later it still starts the truck every day and sometimes it sits for days.

Cant help you with your brain being $#$# up or stupid... but...
The car started slow and was in limp mode.. normally if I shut it down.. open the door to reset it.. it starts fine.. this is the first time it died .. its done this at least 10 times before.. obviously a dying battery.. no groceries loaded up.. just a quick stop... I never use this as a grocery getter.. If its worked before .. there was no reason to think it would not correct itself this time.. I was wrong... She wont come out until a new battery is installed |

Mine is over 5 years old now, I expect it to kick the bucket any day now though.
My experience has been usually to expect about 5 years. Some of you guys have really low miles, I expect that's why the premature death, batteries like to get charged and discharged, sitting kills them. My brother has over 60k on his 2010 and still on the original battery.

Battery's usually only last 3-5 years no matter how many miles you put on them.
Also you can kill any battery by letting it drain and then recharging it unless its a Deep Cycle battery that is made to do that.
