Miles or age?

Would you say that any issues regarding these shocks would be more attributable to miles and use? That would make sense. My '14 Z has only 8800 miles on it but spends its winters in a garage where it can get darn cold. I would think that might have an impact on seals and such. I'm not seeing any leakage yet but...

Type of usage more than miles.

Anecdotally agree with this. Mine didn't have any noticeable problems until I was ~60k miles on them - approx. 4800 miles per year were pure cross-country-trip highway miles. Nice and easy. No track use at all. A bit of shenanigans on the street here and there were all the abuse they received.

Ah, just to add to the strut problem information. I dragged my feet several years ago when I heard they had stopped making the struts. When I looked 6-8 months ago all that was left was rears. I bought a set from Rock Auto with the discount code shared by a forum member. Somewhere around $1k for a set of 2 including taxes and shipping. Had the front left blow out (probably a pothole) sometime in the past couple months at 29K. Dealer diagnosed the popping noise I was in the shop for this AM and showed me the pics. The top was knocked out of the strut. So, the agony of finding another. Did not think the dealer could locate one but they did - for a price. Apparently they are being hoarded and swapped between dealers. They gave me a price of $1200 for the left. Was at a Dealer in Texas. Asked did I want them to look for a front right? Yes, go ahead. They located one at a dealership in California. It was $1450. Did I want it? Yes, and they ordered both. Some type of bushing was also required that was not part of the strut. Uh, that was another $285 per side. Toss in five hours labor and the grand total is $4200 to keep my mag ride (said they would try and cut the bill down if they could). I think I could have gotten a coil over swap done for 6-7K at a peformance shop about 2 hours away. I know it's crazy expensive but hopefully the last strut purchase since I have the rears already. Dealer indicated that the "selling dealer" was making a large profit on the struts. So that was my experience. I know Hawk's Motorsports likely had some used ones but I really would just rather pay up and get a new set. Hope ya'll can come up with a cheaper workaround but just wanted to share my experience.
