Fuse Pull Trick?

Does this trick apply to the 2012 model, or did GM fix the problem by then?
Thanks in advance.

Pull em and find out but if you run premium fuel probably wont do anything

Since your sig says Magnaflow, then I assume you mean the 5 and 20?

Its not really a problem, its how these cars manage the different octanes of fuel out in the wild.

The mapping/timing is adjusted depending on the type of fuel you're using. I guess you can call it a problem since it all doesn't revert automatically back to higher octane mapping once the lower octane is gone, and you've refueled with premium.

This works all the way through the 15's I believe...

This only works on V8 cars

I did it on my 2012 that I bought used. It had been running 89 for however long the guy could remember. I then filled her up with 93 and did the fuse pull. It does make a difference for sure, but taper you expectations. Your car won't suddenly feel like 500 to the wheels but it absolutely works. I believe it's also mainly an L99 thing but LS3 owners do report it works on theirs as well.

The fuse pull only works on 2010's and 2011's. The "bug" was fixed on 2012 and 2013 MYs.

Make sure you've refeuled a few times with premium, and that the low octane fuel is complete gone before you do so......

Still not sure how this affects you if you're tuned, though.......... its been one of those things no one's been able to answer. I guess it would depend on the tune, and how often you reflash your system? Dunno...

It's not a bug. It's to protect the engine in case someone uses low octane fuel.

I remember asking DynoSteve about this. I asked him if he could just "delete" the low octane table but I recall him saying something like "that's not possible" or "that's not how that works".
