Lurker since start of C5..finally an owner!
Hello all, I finally am a registered member of Camaro5. I've been following this car since the first concept dropped. Once the Camaro was announced for production, I scoured the net for info. I found C5 and this has been my go to site ever since.
GM has always been my favorite car company since i was very young. A true car guy thru and thru, I've had many different cars, but got bit by the v8 bug with a 01 mustang gt convert 5m. Always liked Camaros and TA's but never got one. My first GM product was a 04 CTS. I had the best of both worlds convertible v8 rumble and Caddy luxury. I got a company truck and decided I just needed one car. Wow was I wrong. I thought I could get the best of both worlds. Traded them both (stang and Caddy) for a bmw 545. It was fast as hell but had no soul ( It was like a super model that has that one fatal flaw). Kept thinking about the mustang though. Camaro concept dropped and it changed my world. I had to have one. Once the production version finally hit showrooms I wasn't in a position to get one and I wanted a rag-top. So I bought another 2000 gt drop 5m. Car did me right for 3 years and 50k hard driven miles. It held me over until I could finally come home to Camaro. Long story short.... Had been looking in late October, was about to get a 14 until I saw this one on eBay over thanksgiving holiday. It had everything I wanted and I could save a few dollars to pay off my house soon. Flew out to NYC on Dec 4th and drove 1000 miles back to Chicago. What a test drive! So without further delay...I introduce Kreamsicle FreightTrain Kreamsicle for obvious reasons (the Kolor!) FreightTrain because it pulls like one! 2012 2SS/RS Had 1100 mi on eBay but dealer put 400 so 1507 when i got to it. M6 Hurst short throw shifter Borla cat-back (not sure which one because I haven't gotten under there and looked yet) CPO Weather tech mats DROP TOP I just got back from Detroit auto show so mileage is about 3500 now.now. I'm going through withdrawal because haven't been able to drive it lately due to the polar vortex (chiberia, chillinois, ILaska!). However as soon as the weather breaks, its on!. I love to road trip and I have to catch up to all the great C5 people on the permagrin! Chris On a side note I do own a 72 Buick Gran Sport 350(my ole skool). and a 98 Outback (winter beater). I do have some tasteful factory mods coming too...... |

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the Camaro it looks great and I hope you are really pleased with it!
On a side note, you better add a couple Camaro posters to that wall now!
