Will a stock ZL1 A6 dead hook at the drag strip with stock Goodyears
If you have to use drag radials, what size tire, wheel, and air pressure work?

For 99% of drivers Goodyears will not hook with a stock ZL1
Any drag radial will hook a stock ZL1 |

On an incredibly well prepped track, the fastest stock guys are dead hooking the factory tires.
No idea how though. |

My stock ZL1 has pulled a few 1.6 60' times with a best of 1.65. So to answer your question...yes the stock tires can hook. They need a lot of heat in them and a well prepped track.

What tire pressure and launch RPM are you using?

Tire pressure between 30 - 31 psi. I generally put a slight load on the converter...perhaps 1k rpms. It all depends on the track and the conditions. It may take a few passes to get the feel before a perfect run.

Yes, traction control can limit and/or reduce the power your putting to the ground. Many times the traction control is better than the driver or available traction so you will get better ETs with it. The best ETs FOR A given combination are generally run without TC.

dead hooking is a bad thing, it breaks parts and pulls the RPM down too much for a good launch. you need some wheel spin to have a good launch.

No car picks up et from spinning. It may pick up mph but that's it.

I disagree, ever watched pro stock cars leave the line. they tune and change how much wheel spin they have to get that fine line between pulling the RPM down too much and running a slower 60 and spinning too much and running a slow 60'
