To be honest.. A clutch/flywheel.. cam.. long tube headers and cold air intake. Then you'll be there.

Also 426 is at the crank, not the wheels.

So you're really trying to go from 376 to 500.

500 crank shouldn't be that difficult. 500 wheel is going to take some work. BTW, you have 426 crank not wheel, probably close to 360 wheel now.

It depends on your budget.

IIRC, it even has a warranty. And nobody will know you're not stock.

Full bolt ons..headers....cam and a tune along with some head work will give you 500 rwhp that is streetable. And this will not break the bank. Under 4k for this. Go FI and that will get you around 550 rwhp and that will cost you 7k. Find a builder and tell him what you want and build from there.

Well, the OP hasn't specified RWHP. He quoted engine crank HP of 426 and if he just looking for that number to climb to 500 - I suspect headers, CAI and tune would get him there easy.

If you plan on keeping the car for a very long time I would go ahead with cam/head/CAI upgrades this should put you at 480+rwhp. The sacrifice you will make is drivability (don’t let anyone tell you it will not suffer at low speeds) the other issue is should you decide to sell you will not only lose all of your mod money you will likely be worth less than had you kept the car stock. I know folks don’t like to hear this but take a look in the classifieds and you will see for yourself.

If you think you may want to trade up or down in a short time (1-3 years) I would simply supercharge the car with low boost. You will not take the financial hit that you will going the above route.

With cam and head work your certain parts of the warranty will be void. Valve train almost certainly. Of course there exceptions if you are in bed with a GM dealer.
