Unless the 5th gen camaro is different, replacing the torque converter is easy. Thank god for front engine RWD.

I have a 2012 V6 automatic. I had to torque converter replaced In May 2013. The first time that I told them about it they wouldn't fix it because they were not getting any codes. The 2nd time I told them that it effected the performance of the car. And it does. My biggest worry is when the warrenty is over, I sure that is an expensive fix.

I am so frustrated at first I thought it was me doing something wrong but I Never took either vehicle over 70 for the first 1500miles and was very careful with the break in period on both vehicle's. Problem is I am stuck with this car because I owe to much on it so as of right now I just dont enjoy my car I mean for god sakes they are brand new cars my 1st car only had 5500 miles and my current car only has 7000miles only just shouldn't happen...Very disappointed in GM and the Camaro sorry I know alot of you will disagree but stuff like this just shouldn't happen to new vehicles thank God for Warrenties.
Thanks for letting me vent...Oh and also it has prevented me from doing the Mods I really want in fear of it breaking down...
The torque converters on the 2012 v6's are well known issues. As said before, GM knows about the issue. Mine got the "rumble strip" feeling about 6 months ago. Took it in to the dealer, they said yep theres a service bulletin on those, fixed it under warranty and havent had any issues since. Not surprising it happened on both your 2012's. Stinks it happened but hey, thats why you have a warranty . Dont let it get you down, enjoy the car!

Hey CWI, can I ask what your issue was with the driveline ?

Like what was a bad D/L causing you to experiance ?

don't let it bother you, just have fun with the car, you've got a real good warranty on it and GM will take care of it, they will find the problem shortly and hopefully you can get a new good one.

It makes me wonder too, they've been making those things for 60 years or more, you would think they would know what their doing by now,

I don't think GM makes them anyway, they are bought from a supplier.
