Under what circumstances? Regular driving/shifting or @ the track launching? I still haven't tried a launch in my Camaro yet...too nervous.

After re-reading this thread I realized my 2010 was built WAY after the initial problem back in 2009. Mine was built in May 2010 so I should be good to go

My 2010 SS/RS M6 is on the roll back for the 2nd time. Less than 3K ago it broke the right half shalf. At 6900 miles the Trans. grenaded. I mean boom, bang, grind, snap, crackle pop, snatched the shifter out of my hand at 35mph 3Krpm going from 2nd to 3rd. Went to get Pizza and wings in 5 O'clock traffic. No launching, smoke show, even anything sporty. My hand felt vibration on the shifter, it became more profound, and I glanced at how my hand was shaking on the shifter and BOOM, it exploded. Jerked the shifter out of my hand. The shifter was pitching back and forth like a car possessed by a Demon. Pretty pissed right now. Two catastrophic failures, two roll back rides, and the car has 6900 miles on it. I'm starting to think this is a POS. If you can't use your car as it was intended, then you've been had.

The only power adders were a PH Super Supreme and 10 chicken wings.

Driveshaft giubo failed. I believe transmission locked up. Dealer fixing the stuff flopping drive shaft broke. shifter, actuator, cats, etc. Not addressing transmission. Says failed guibo caused by right rear half shaft failure 3000 miles ago. Transmission felt like it locked up after grinding, clutch went to the floor. I'm too sick at my stomach to argue with them.

Yea, I was afraid to really 'get on it' after the half shaft failed. It failed during a 3500rpm launch using LC, on cold tires, on old asphalt. The transmission failed with no warning. Grinding in 2nd, I shifted to 3rd and boom, Transmission locked, drive shaft coupling snapped, drive shaft proceeded to beat the undercarriage, heat shields, shifter, actuators, cats. etc. to death.... clutch, trans., diff., all could be damaged due to this failure. It could happen to anyone who drives a M6 IMO.

That's sucks for us people who did a tune on our cars, luckily they covered it even wit my aftermarket stuff, but I, sure if the tray goes then I'm assed out

Thanks w00t!
I read it twice, and then re-read it again. Many transmissions have failed. Has your opinion changed in the two years since your post?

Let's add another 2010 2ss to the list of got issues. Oct 28 2012 #6 cylinder valve spring snapped. Fixed under warranty. Nov 8, 2012 smell of burning oil and anti freeze.. warranty repair replaced timing cover, driver side head gasket replaced, car out of shop nov 15. Nov 22, pulled out from red light with comp mode on, normal pull out no dump, 3500rpm changed to 2nd gear, loud pop and no more gears. No leaking fluid no warnings lights. Problems started at 40k miles. Currently 41,580 miles and 3rd time in shop less than a month. Not really happy but dealership has worked with me. No cost to me plus a rental car. Just not happy with GM

Wow! Thats a lot of issues...and none at a cost to you which is amazing!

Funny how GM seems to be biased on who or what they fix...glad you got yours taken care of!
