Recaro seat question

Has anyone tried to install recaro seats from a hard top into a convertible? Is there a difference between the two seats?

A few years back I did consulting for Adient when they owned Recaro. I was able to tour a few plants, even 2 foam factories in Canada. I can say with confidence, the only difference is the material.

The only difference should be between 1SS and 2SS models for Recaro seats, and the difference is just a wiring harness. Otherwise the Recaro’s are the same across the entire lineup minus the ZL1’s red stitching

Well, another difference is the 2SS/ZL1 vs. 1SS vs. LT1 for heating and ventilation. I have an LT1 vert with Recaros and cannot retrofit the heating/cooling without other stuff, like wiring and venting.

The seat itself already has the venting and components there, the difference is the wiring harness. For cooling all you need is a Gen5DIY power harness they sell, unfortunately there isn't anyone that retrofitted a harness for heating

Thanks, not sure how I missed those threads. Interesting that the cooling fan is there, but not the heating element. In SoCal, cooling has a priority over heating though, so I'd be happy to cool my booty.

It does have the heating element as well, they’re the same seat but no one’s done power harness to enable the heating so far unfortunately
