Traded my 2016 2SS for a 2018 1SS 1LE

I stumbled across a deal that I just couldn't pass up. I ended up trading in my 2016 Nightfall Grey, 2SS, A8 for a 2018 Summit White, 1SS 1LE. My 2SS had only 9600 miles on it when I made the deal but, I had to drive it all the way from Florida to Kentucky and then drive the 1LE back to Florida.

It was an extremely daunting drive, especially because of the storm that followed me all the way from Kentucky to mid Alabama. Overall, I am thoroughly pleased with the handling characteristics of the vehicle and honestly, as awesome as the A8 was, I'm glad to be back in a manual transmission car.

Congratulations to the 1LE I personally prefer the NGM but luckily we have different tastes otherwise we drive all the same car.

Thanks. I really, really liked my 2SS for what it was. However, everything I wanted to do to that car eventually, was in line with what a 1LE was so, I just decided to pick one up instead of trying to recreate one. Also, I liked the color very much, as well but, if I were to get a 1LE, I wanted the contrasting satin black to really stand out, which it does not on NGM.

I could have opted for a 2SS 1LE but, considering the newer models have Apple Car Play, I don't think I was missing out on much outside of a few amenities/luxuries.

Congrats. Hope you don't miss the 2SS features. I know I would.

Thanks. I had a 2014 1SS Camaro, before. I knew that the interior trim wouldn’t be that great but, the trade off is that this model is a 1LE. To be fair, it seems like the most overt things that caught my attention was the lack of collision detection from either the rear bumper or from the side view mirrors.

The rest is nifty, sure but, not really necessary for me at the end of the day. The first things I did when I got it home was the fuse pull, foam delete in the sound tube and transfer over my Rotofab dry cold air. On my next day off, I’ll go install my axle back. First thing I’m going to buy for this car is rock guards, however.

While I end up having tremendous attachment to all of my vehicles, I knew that eventually I’d have to relinquish them all at some point to get to where I wanted to be.

Probably the NPP exhaust fuse (51)

Fuse #51 is the one he pulled and doing so keeps the valves for the NPP exhaust open all the time. Don't have to worry about using the Mode select on the console to change the settings from Track, Sport etc.... the exhaust will be open and louder all the time.

This is also done in driver options in the MyLink. You can select what mode the exhaust, suspension and or steering defaults to or choose they react to whatever mode the car is in. I simply set my exhaust to track and it stays that way unless I change the option in the menu without pulling a fuse which would take any option away. That's the whole point of NPP. And congrats on a great car OP.

From what I understand, the NPP system will close and quiet down at highway speeds. Removing the fuse allows all the Bald Eagles loose all the time.

How much did you end up paying for the trade?

Good deal! I drove from south Florida to Maryland for mine on New Years Eve and right back. Not many folks are willing to make the round trip drive but for the right deal,I agree with you. I did the same thing 7 months earlier with the same dealer. Watch out for the love bugs and get them cleaned off ASAP with that Summit White paint!
Kudos for trading away the potential A8 headache too.

The A8 problem can be solved with an aftermarket trans tune.
