Anyone get that feeling of a divide between camaro5 and Camaro6.com?
Damn if camaro6.com would be a shop, it's of those you feel pressured in and want to just walk out not buying anything. Anyone else get that feeling? It feels like the tension is so high between 6th ownersowners, other 6th owners and 5th gen owners who only want to say "hey nice car or what do you think about... " and then all of a sudden a people just snap for no reason over there. Sheesh. "all I said was nice car" haha yeah well wuddaya mean "NICE car bro"

It's a shame really. Gen6 wouldn't be here without Gen5 and Camaro in general is dead without a Gen6.
Makes no sense to hate on either if you truly are a Camaro guy. The problem is that people are so sensitive these days and get their feelings hurt so easily, that it's nearly impossible to say anything negative about anything without someone acting like you're calling their mama a whore. |

When I wander over to the 6th gen forums it is just to the detaiing threads I dare to post. I see no reason to post to any other areas since I don't like the 6th styling. I don't mind answering detailing questions since the models are not the focus. I can respect that people think it is the best thing since sliced bread and that is just fine with me. I'm pretty sure if I said I did not like the new ZL1 over there, it would be a mess, so I don't bother.

Sorry.. I don't go there so can't comment.. I own the first year gen 5 and have 0 interest in a gen 6.. Maybe one day but love my gen 5 too much to worry what is goin on over there.. Sure it will calm down in a year when the 2nd gen 6 releases and folks actually have something to talk and compare to..

I think it's a common evolutionary occurrence on forums likes this when a new gen comes out & a new section is added. Have seen the same on the Corvette forum over the years with the release of the C5 through to the C7 (originally became a member when I had my C3 & C4). Eventually it calms down, but there's always a 'friendly rivalry' between the sections.

I've only been over there a time or two. I was worried that I would really like the 6th gen and that it might make me love my 13 less. Thank God that's not the case. I've sat in them at the dealer and looked them over and they just don't really do it for me. If anything I like mine even more now.
But I do love all Camaros just because they are Camaros

Hopefully brother, but the "friendly rivalry" isn't too friendly and yes I get the quotations part. I never understood the banter between the "yeah my gen is better than yours" type of deal. It just shows extreme insecurity. I love many gens from many cars for the most part. But dayum, it's like pump the breaks for a bit y'all. Oh and if y'all weren't tracking with my tire issues thread , y'all are still free to borrow my car whenever, just let me know.

People get so touchy over this because of the financial and emotional investment. In a perfect world they would have only made one car (mine) and it would be worth 12 times what I paid for it.

Funny you mention this. I notice this with newer truck owners (K2 Chevy trucks) since 2014 when they came out.
