1LE Nürburgring times-POLL
After a review of the official times.....the fastest Camaro times is from back in 2010 @ 8:20. (My piddly TC Cobalt did it in 8:22)
The ZL1 posted 7:41 this year so I'm curious: What's your best guess if/WHEN they run the Ring?

My own guess for my own poll......given the suspension/traction mods (main upgrades over 2010 SS).....and the fact that VIR is about 39% the "timed length" of the ring via posted ZL1 times @ each...and that the 1LE was 6 seconds slower than the ZL1 @ VIR....I'm going to go with a weird formula I've worked out and adjusted for my 1LE Camaro confidence level....
8:12 it is!

I think sub 8:00. The car grips better and better get up with the shorter gearing and 3.91s.

Sh*t, forgot about the gearing changes! But the new wheels are 285 35's rather than 40's. I'll adjust mine down a lil but I don't think sub 8min. 8:05 @ best IMO

They set the wheel/tire setup on these for grip. I still say sub 8 cause honestly i think a boss 302 Laguna seca will go right at 8:00

The 2012 BOSS 302 is like 300lbs lighter if I remember right and has 18HP more than the Camaro. The Mustang SHOULD beat the Camaro and if the C5 goes under 8 min, what's the Boss going to post? I just don't see it but time will tell. I'm very intrigued :P

When I saw that first 5th gen go around the nurburgring with the vertical up and Down movements in the turns,I said this is gonna be bad, and it was. Chevy missed the mark with the fe3 suspension. Fe 6 will crush a 2010 SS around the ring.

I agree it's going to help...but with the same motor...to cut 20+ full seconds off that time...??? There are over 140 corners on that track(almost 13 miles long). Some are so fast or subtle that the suspension wont matter. Let's say the 1LE will be advantageous on half of them. That's roughly 70 corners. Divide that by 20 seconds to run sub 8min = .29 seconds faster through every single corner. Almost 1/3 of a second on each corner made up? Maybe, maybe not. I'm sure the suspension/traction will help on the entire course but 20 seconds would be amazing! I hope so of course. I wouldn't be mad if it ran a sub 7 either. LOL

Sub 8:00. I think it'll be between 7:50 and 8:00.

The zr1 cut 7 seconds with just sport cup tires from pilot ps's. The gears plus suspenion AND goodyear eagle f1s over crap pzeros make lots of difference
My more specific guess... 7:57
