L99 cars are way easier to drag race.

When you foot brake an automatic and bring up the revs, you are loading the converter. M6 cars don't have a converter so that manuever you were doing is a wasted effort. Sounds pretty complicated to get a successful launch outta that. Not sure where you picked that up, but it's definately a new one on me. The l99 will be much easier to launch and with a few boltons, you'll be flyin! Good luck

Line lock is easier than the hand break.
Like posters above have stated with the e-brake, it allows you to load up the suspension like an automagic so the is car is squatting and there is no slack in the drive line from sitting there with the clutch pushed in. That initial slack take up does two things. 1, it costs you time and 2, it shocks the rear suspension making it easier to spin and therefore making it a one-two punch to your 60' times. Could possibly let you go a little farther on power before having to get axles - unless you are a maniac on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts!! Granted, with a twin disc clutch this is going to take a little more effort as they clamp so much harder than stock and they really don't like slipping that much. finding that sweet spot where it loads the suspension without starting to smell from the slipping is a little bit of trial and error but I loved it and it made a world of difference my 94 Formula - the relevant mods on that for this thread being: 4:10 gears, Nitto DRs, McCloud Street twin clutch and full BMR suspension. She would spin the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts pretty good and chirp the 3-4 and 4-5 shifts, but dead hook at 2800rpm and after 5-10 launches my 60's dropped from 2.2-2.3 to a best of 1.79. Also, releasing a line lock button got my hand back on the steering wheel a lot faster and is way less complicated than dropping the e-brake handle then trying to reach up to the steering wheel when all h3ll breaks loose.

You should try it if you have drag radials or slicks. I noticed it launches much harder this way so you'll just spin on street tires. MRL is where the funs at!!

I'll give it one last shot and then I'm sticking to MRL. I am now 220hp/260tq more than I was a year ago and have only dropped .4 while increasing 17mph more than my best run when I was only headers and a tune. Both on DR's. Heck...I was able to hit 1.8's 1.9's consistently on Pirellis back then!
