What a fantastic question! You've brought up some very good points regarding the different types of tunes available to 5th Gen consumers (the Pfadt tune, and other generic "canned tunes"). It sounds like you've done a lot of research regarding the subject, and I applaud that! However, at Pfadt we are at the forefront of ECU tuning, and we have addressed many of the current concerns about ecu tuning that limit other competitors. Let me give you some details regarding our product, but first let me say that for any warranty concerns regarding the addition of our ECU tune, you really need to contact your local GM service provider. GM will be the ones that can inform you on the details of your warranty and how any modification may affect it Regarding the returning to stock option, we do allow our customers to return 100% to stock. I know that our tuning system will allow you to flash the ECU, and Flash a stock tune back to the ECU. Our tune also allows you to flash to the stock tune and have the CVN (calibration verification number) to match the OEM calibration for testing purposes and also have the flash counter not affected. If you happen to have trouble with say, the suspension system acting up, you may need your engine calibration to be back to stock in order to troubleshoot the suspension system. I know that isn't very straightforward and it is just a hypothetical example. But I am just trying to illustrate why one would need to use a transparent tune. All of the on board systems talk to each other occasionally and that is why transparency is useful in certain scenarios. For testing purposes, it is ideal to not have the flash counter incremented and to have the CVN match; this is what our tune can provide. Thanks for the support! |

I'm not trying to single you out, but if you're making these claims, we need reassurance that the info is indeed true and not just a sales pitch, so to speak.

All Pfadt said is that you need to contact GM for any warranty concerns. They simply stated that their tune will not change the write counter and the CVN which is entirely possible. Just because the Camaro crowd hasn't seen it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. This method of tuning has been successful on several GM platforms with more sophisticated ECU's for at least the past 12 months. Get your head out of your a** and see the sunlight a little |

Unfortunately, this is not like selling headers or other performance parts where the answer is to stick it on a dyno before and after and get verifiable results. That being said, how can you back the claims that this tune is truly transparent. |

Take it easy Cammarrah, there is no need for this thread to derail. At Pfadt, we are more than confident about our products and their features. Our engineering expertise and innovative products sometimes come into question, that is to be expected when you are at the forefront.
Lets remember what the OP wanted...He is excited about his new car, and is even more excited to explore the upgrades that are available. We should all understand his excitement and be supportive! I'm just glad to see another Camaro brother looking to make his car, his dream car. |

Is your license plate mount a picture of the front of your car or does it just not have a license plate in it? Why does it look like a transparent nothingness? Is that a dumb question?

Full tank of good premium and fuse pull. Get a better air intake filter. I'm happy with my K&N Typhoon I got in new condition for $100.

Get some Pfadt ZL spec sways and springs and transform your car suspension wise. Better looks, handling, braking and cornering.

Push the traction control switch twice , shit it to S , push the right hand side pedal to the metal , hold on to the wheel & hope for the best
Off course you should do this after you do the Fuse pull , and feed her with 91 or better gas And we didn't have this conversation |

Welcome to black where we do not believe in slack (not that any of our other brothers and sisters do either)... Anyway, the least expensive adjustment I found was driving out the bad gas, refueling with Techro-line and 91 octane or higher. Then after driving through that tank of gas, I repeat the process. The fuel injectors will be clean and the engine smooth. The real challenge is maintaining the finish, but I know you are up for it.
