Car always starting up in tour mode, want to change that
Hey guys just bought a 16 1ss 6 speed with the NPP! I'm trying to get my exhaust to stay in track mode when it turns on but for some reason even if I go to settings>drive mode>engine sound management and click track it starts up in tour mode, is it because I'm 6 speed or is the car just faulty and needs to be taken to the dealer? Thanks

You turn the car off in track mode. It defaults back to tour. If you turn the car off in sport, it'll stay in sport.

Keep it in sport, I can't really tell the difference between the two in exhaust sound. It will stay in that mode and still sound killer

I don't have MRC so I can't set the suspension. But with the NPP, it will default back to tour if you leave it on track. I have the fuse pull so the sound doesn't matter but would love to have it default to track mode driveabilties. |

The exhaust seems to open to max a bit quicker under track mode.
I just leave it in sport, it's close enough.

For example, my preference is to hard code steering to tour, NPP to track and I leave suspension associated to the drive mode. With this configuration NPP is always in track and steering is always in tour regardless of the drive mode I am in. So, the only thing the drive mode controls for me is suspension and the other non configurable stuff the drive mode controls such as throttle response, shift firmness, performance shift mode, etc. I could also hard code the suspension (MRC) setting as well but I like to be able to quickly change it with the click of a drive mode button rather than having to come to a stop and dig through the MyLink menus to change it. FYI, I kinda do the same thing for the lighting feature. I decouple the blue, red and yellow from the drive mode and hard code blue or any other color I like regardless if I switch drive modes. I did this because I typically drive in sport mode, which defaults to red but I really prefer the look of blue in the cabin especially at night.

SOLUTION!! Always keep exhaust open!
Quote:
You can go into your car's settings and select "exhaust" and click to leave it on the Track exhaust settings in all modes, and all the other things such as steering and suspension you can select to only change when you change drive modes. But the exhaust will stay on the track setting even if you're in Tour or Sport mode. This is what i did because i always want to hear my exhaust i don't want it in quiet mode even when i'm driving regularly in Tour mode with the loose suspension and steering. |

In Track mode, the valves are open regardless of engine RPM or throttle application. Your Camaro may be different? I leave mine is Sport all the time for daily driving. Plenty of good exhaust sound for me.

The only difference I've noticed is that the valves close a bit sooner in sport than in track, and there is less popping in sport.

When you shut down you car on Snow or track mode, it will wake up in tour mode. Sport mode will stay in sport.

Leave it in Sport, manually set the engine sound management setting to Track.
Problem fixed.
