Recaro Seats
I'm having problems with the leather wear on the Recaro seats from getting in and out of the car. The leather appears to be peeling a bit. I just got the car 3 months ago. Is there a better way to care for the care? Is this expected?

Looks like damage from body rub. I don’t have memory seats on my 1LE, so I move the seat all the way back when I get out and move it back into driving position after I gently “fall” in without dragging across the bolster. With memory seats, you can set 1 to your regular driving position and 2 to “exit” mode.
Talk to your dealer about fixing this under warranty, and then change your approach and landing in the car! |

blurry photo, but that does not look like normal wear from entry/exit.

Looks like something got caught on the leather like a key or rivet on a pair of jeans. I have learned not to slide into the car but kinda drop down so there is minimal contact with the leather. Getting out is another story but I think I have it mastered.
Someone needs to make bolster protectors like you can get for a Porsche! |

It's seriously harder to get in and out of the Camaro than my old C6 vette. Worth it though.

The 2018 2SS 1LE has memory seats that move for egress? That's awesome.
I wish these cars had the old swivel buckets like the old 70's Hurst/Olds... |

That's not normal seat wear....something gouged or scraped across the leather.
Look higher in the photo, and you can see the "wear" between the stitching too....not sure what it caused it, but my guess is keys or maybe jean rivets?

Yeah that isnt the normal slide wear, that is from something getting caught and tearing the leather.

That's from a rivet, something in your pocket, or something clipped to your pocket/jeans and not the fault of the material or manufacturer. I'd suggest being more careful in the future.

I have the same issue. Maybe try a black shoe cream, not polish. Keep it off the stitching.

It's hard to get past the bolster without hitting the seat or the steering wheel. That scratch looks like it came perhaps from keys or a belt IMO. I wouldn't sweat it.
When I drive my 1LE on the street, I put the steering column fully forward which helps with ingress/egress. At the track, I set it properly (pulled back a bit) for optimal steering reach. |
