Question about tires NT555
I have a 2012 45th Camaro SS with the stock 20" rims. The car is lowered with Ebachi Springs. The stock tires are: Front: 245/45-20, Rear 275/40-20.
I'm considering buying Nitto's NT555 tires. I want something that is a good all around high performance tire that will provide more grip in a straight line and corners. I want to know if I can put Front 255/35-20, Rear 285/30-20 on the car. If I am able to do this what would be the downside? I do have an SCT Programmer so I can adjust the speedometer due to the tire diameter change. |

The nt555's are probably not going to provide much better corner grip than the pzero's as say.. the nt05's. stratight line acceleration will be possibly a little better due to wider tire but dont take my word for it. its not necessary to run that thin of a tire for lowered setups unless you want too. Id probably run the 245/40/20 & 285/35/20.

I would run stock sidewalls if they made them in that size. For some reason the nt555 20" seem to all have low sidewalls with this tire. We do get some rain here in Las Vegas and I see that the NT05's have excellent dry traction but the wet is not so great. the NT555 seemed to be a good compromise. If they are really no better than stock then I guess I need to keep shopping around. I thought the NT555 was a softer compound than the P-Zeros? |

Thank you for finding that for me. I was looking on Nitto's website and it didn't have those sizes! So you don't think they will hook up any better than P-Zero's? |

They are pretty equal. Youll just get longer life (depending on driving habits) for a better price than the pzero's . The pzero itself isnt an awful tire, its just pricey. More performance oriented tire's usually dont last as long or perform as well in wet conditions because of the tire compound/starting tread depth. (i.e. NT05)

If you want an awesome set of tires i am running the goodyear f1 supercar 285/305 combo. Yes i know they are too wide for your wheels. But you could always widen the stock fronts and put them on rear and the rears on the front like i did. Looks stock but has real rubber that handles awesome. Plus they are cheaper. Yes cheaper than others. 285/35/20 f1 supercars on onlinetires.com are $259. And rears 305/35/20 f1 supercars are $280 right now. About a $100 a piece cheaper than stock pirelli. Just something to look at. Looks way better. Handles even better. An option many dont realize.
