If you actually need race gas, stick with the best stuff sold right at the track. I'd be suspicious of crap sold at a gas station for 6.99. My 13.5 CR BBC in a drag car runs best on VP 112 or Dragon 112.

Tons of variation in the various brands of race fuels. Lead content, specific gravity... I can't imagine the 7 buck stuff at a gas station being all that great.

If the nozzle doesn't fit, it's not unleaded!

Bone stock you won't see much of an increase in power. Its cheaper if you run meth instead.

Why would you run meth on a stock car?

A bit like a supercharger or turbo. Next thing you'll know this site will have 50 threads about guys asking about running meth on stock engines.

Can the car handle it? Honestly, I don't know.

Will it do anything? No.

High octane doesn't mean more power unless the timing is changed.

What I bolded isn't true. Take for instance a VP105 Octane, its a slower burn and will burn cooler than a 91 octane. It takes energy to create a chemical reaction. A lower octane will take less energy to create that reaction.. ie, if you are running higher compression and the motor is hot, you will create the reaction at an unpredictable moment, like before the spark is introduced. Take for instance dirt track racing, you're turning an engine at high RPM's for a longer duration of time compared to a car driving down the highway. You risk more of a chance running on a lower octane of creating pre detonation, pinging, or knocking. You're not going to find the benefits of high octanes unless your engine requires it. Running a fuel with too much octane can just as easily hurt performance.

Listen, 100 octane will not hurt your car. It will run better, period and you don't have to worry about your car running hot, or hotter, it'll just run better. Meaning, it will take less gas to get the same results e.g. climbing hills, acceleration. Common sense. The tuning issues start mattering once you hit the 110 octane rating. There will be some issues if you attempt to run this gas due to oxygen sensors and your ecm not having a clue what is going on. You can run 110, but I

wouldn't recommend running nothing but 110. Just enough to get your octane points up. Try it and see. Then post some of your own stuff.
