Project Porsche Journal
A while back I was looking for a change of pace and bought a Porsche Boxster as a weekend toy. Obviously doesn't have the low down power of an American V8 but it handles like a go-kart and the flat six makes it surprisingly quick. Here is a picture from when I first bought it.
The driving experience is what sold me but overall I was not too impressed with how it looked so I set off to making it a little cooler. First I ditched the polished oval exhaust tip for black duals. Then is was time to paint those silver side vents. I also had 20% ceramic tint put on and love that stuff. It costs about twice as much as normal tint but is a game changer during the summer. Keeps the inside of the car a lot cooler. Then to take care of that last sore thumb. So now I have started exploring how to get some more power out of this thing. Turns out that in order to keep the lighter and better balanced Boxster and Cayman from stepping on the toes of its upmarket 911 Carrera brother, Porsche apparently choked up the induction side of things at every opportunity. I am going to address it all but I am going to start upstream and work my way back. BEFORE you even get to the air box there is a restrictor plate AND a snorkel that has a huge opening in the air box and is about 30% smaller where air enters it. Today I ripped it all out and am going to apply some Apex Scoop technology to this thing and push some more air in. Last edited by Apex Motorsports; 08-12-2015 at 07:45 AM. |

oh you're talking about that shade of green? I was looking at the green they seem to use which is a little lighter.
if it was a choice between that darker green and the yellow, id go with yellow. but I personally like the lighter shade of green that Porsche uses. |

What rims are those Chase? The car is looking great. Porsches have really grown on me recently.
