I guess haters will hate, My wife owns a 2012 Camry, she loves it, and that little car is a blast to drive IMO.

GM seemed to be toying with the idea of a hatch...I wonder if it really will be.

Yikes! Don't think that I'll like this new Malibu over the nice looking current one!

Supposedly, both are moving to next gen versions of those two architectures.

We've got a 15 Malibu 2LTZ Turbo in Atlantis Blue. Fully loaded, it's a pretty impressive car. Have yet to see another turbo model on the road. Figure we'll hold onto it until GM announces their plans for the final farewell of the Chevy SS.

I agree GM addressing the short-falls of the current model so quickly is refreshing.
I'd buy the mazda6 over every car on that list. If the malibu has some of that mojo then I'd be interested. |

Well, if the teasers are any indication, the new Malibu should at least have the looks.

Anyway, I found the 7th gen's sales numbers. I wasn't aware the 8th gen was struggling in comparison, and can't find anything to support that. Help? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrol...American_sales |

Strange since the Impala isn't changing(?), and the Malibu shared that platform [just went and looked it up].

Impala is on Premium Epsilon shared with XTS.
Malibu is SWB Epsilon.

They're derived from the same Epsilon architecture but they aren't the same platform.
And just because Malibu is switching to E2XX doesn't mean everything on Epsilon needs to switch.
