Dealers in DFW area
Hi folks,
I am new to the forums as well as to buying a car. So consider my views with a pinch of salt. That said, I went to Huffines Chevy, and well, they did not even talk to me once I said I am planning to buy only around Dec-Jan. The exact words "Well, there it is over by the corner. We don't know much about the 2017 model since it came only a week back. You can go online and check." And the guy left me and wife alone...looking like idiots. And then they keep mailing me again and again asking me if I want to buy a car - I told them what happened at their dealership - which I went to only because they called me in - they ignore that, and keep sending emails again. Anyway, so I went to Stonebriar Chevy - here again, they were not really interested in talking to me. The guy I spoke to did not even ask for my name nor did he introduce himself - he just said they had a lot of camaros and that I should come back later when I am ready to buy. They did not even tell me to look at the car. I don't know.....I was dressed in shorts and a tshirt which got dirty at the dog park where I had gone to prior to visiting the dealerships. And I am Indian, which made me stand out like a sore thumb at the dealerships, so I am kinda giving them the benefit of the doubt - maybe they would have been nice if I had looked neater and more like someone rich, even though I could have bought the car right there if I had some salesman coax me into it. Oh well... So, I decided to go with the goddess of Camaros - Becky....but I still have a few friends who are looking. Any suggestions on good dealerships - not just where you have had a good experience, but where you know that most of the employees are passionate about cars and have a good welcoming atmosphere? We bought a mini Cooper Countryman at Sewell and my god they are the best. Maybe I am expecting a lot from dealerships? |

Just go when you're serious about buying. You will get plenty of attention. Sales people work on commission which requires a sale. When you open with a time frame of 6 months out, they would be smart not to waste time talking to you when there may be customers looking to buy now. I'm sure you can understand.

Yes sir, I understand. I did read good reviews on the other thread about both these dealerships, and maybe I was just there at the wrong day. But to be honest, I was serious about buying. It was either a Camaro or the wifey wants me to buy the Jaguar F Pace. I am kinda holding out for the 1LE package, as well as some lower prices, so I can add more customizations like interior lighting, etc.
I am just curious as to what people think are good dealerships in DFW area to go to, where they feel most welcome - By no means does my description of my experiences mean that I am crying about it - I just wanted people to know that this can happen at these places. On that note - Becky probably answered more questions in two PMs today than both those dealerships combined - even though I told her that I was buying only in March. I am pretty sure there can be more dealers like her in DFW area , no? |

The people at this dealership have no reason to spend time with you. It's the sad truth. |

Being the Texas forums and all...I thought I would be able to get a consensus of what dealers in DFW are actually above the cut....I wish there was a sticky thread that I could refer to with references and stuff. There wasn't....and so I thought I would check with people here. Oh well...have a good day! |

I bought my 2014 Camaro and 2016 Camaro from Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson. They are very friendly and I've never felt the pressure to purchase immediately. They also have the largest selection to choose from with the best discounts off MSRP. Out of curiosity I just checked and they have 89 to choose from and no I do not work for them. I always use their service department also. They added my black bowties and blade spoiler and did a great job and did it while I waited.

Classic in Grapevine..Brent Williams..No Hassle, No headaches...if you are serious about buying, today or in 6 mos, if you're not wasting his time, he will make your deal happen. I have bought a 2 - 5th Gens and a 6th Gen Camaro, a Chev Cruze and when the time is right, another Camaro.
I shopped dealers looking for my 6th Gen, just because there were so few when I was looking, and I just could not get a better deal from him, fair and friendly treatment each and every time. No other person treated me with the kind of respect he gives. Not pushy, does not waste your time, and he gets results. I'm never shopping anywhere else for cars...no one can compare!

Oh I will definitely be paying him a visit in a couple of months, even though I have already planned to go with Becky. A good dealership experience will definitely count as the whole car shopping experience is something you remember for a long time.

Brian Prosser at Reliable Chevrolet is probably the best car salesman I've dealt with in my 4 years. Unfortunately it was when people were waiting months for Camaros and I found the car I wanted on a lot. He's a straight shooter, knowledgeable, and will get you the best price he can.
