Same with the Callenger. The Hellcat created enough of a buzz that drew people in.

A number of issues with that car. And I love the Z28. The LS7 has a bad rap right now and as silly as it is to write 505hp really isint doing it for people right now.(The people who are willing to spend 70k on a Camaro) The fact that the body style is changing is also holding a number of people back, including me. Most realize the next gen platform will have so many advancements its hard not to wait it out vs spend 70k

My local dealer has already started advertising some really deep discounts on the 5th Gen, especially the V6. Five 1LS models under $21k, one priced at $19,600! Several 1SS models right around $31k.

I see MANY more Challengers and Chargers now, than a year ago.
I also believe that contrary to what we are often told(or maybe want to believe), the new Mustang is selling VERY well. Though, I cannot see how. It is hideous and a questionable improvement over the prior model.

New Mustang is definitely an improvement, I just don't think they have gone to the extent that Camaro will go to.

My buddy's 2015 GT PP is pretty nice. The interior is a definite step up, even though I think the interior in my 13 is decent. Seats in the Mustang finally feel like you're not sitting on them, instead you're in them and being hugged quite well.

The 2014 mustangs look better imo, but the 15 is a better car for a daily driver. These cars are not high end sports cars, these are cheap/no thrills/daily drivers.

My local dealer still has 3, 2014 SS Camaros still sitting on the lot and one I know of that has been sitting for over a year ........ I would definitely consider a well discounted '14 SS !!!!!!

This is exactly what happened in the Corvette world. They released the car for sale and they couldn't build them fast enough. Some people waited 6-8 months for their cars and many dealer's allocations were all spoken for before the first car was built.

If GM did this car right, I feel like there are going to be a lot of '15 Mustang owners that wish they would have waited a year.

Dodge threw a huge advertising campaign "The Dodge brothers" with the release of the Hellcat that ran all fall/winter through football season and capped off with a long Superbowl ad.

You don't see performance cars getting that kind of push so grats to Dodge on that.

I personally don't see the logic in watching a ad for a 707hp Challenger and running out and buying an underpowered V6 but hey...

I don't know... Even though we are all confident that the new Camaro will be a great car, this doesn't take anything away from the 5th gen. It's outstanding. I'm on the fence. I'm ready to buy a '15 1LE. If I do, I know I'll be happy with it. I think I'm going to roll the dice and go for the '16 but I'm not sure it's the smartest move to get in on the first model year (but that exhaust clip just sounds soooooooo goooooooood).

I don't know.. I feel that most of the stuff it gets will have already been on other GM cars. I'm not too worried about getting the first model year in this case.

Price....if they would have changed the MSRP.... and actually let some of the people that wanted to purchase had to pick from equally priced cars ...ya think.. just because its hamburger at McDonald's doesn't mean they want to pay filet mignon prices...there's a 5000 dollar difference between cars. they should have been the same price four years ago.
